Please keep in your thoughts and prayers the people of North Carolina, who are still suffering from the effects of the hurricane. FEMA is now kicking these people out of their hotels. They have no place else to go and they are now in the grasp severe cold. It’s absolutely disgusting. What is happening in North Carolina there was no aid given as a joke given what is happening in California is a complete disgrace and what I would consider one of the greatest acts of Homeland terrorism to have ever happened on US soil that onion has a lot of layers

I'm still praying for the entire Appalachia region, and I pray that this does not cause even further division between the citizens of this country. I'm so tired of tragedies becoming politicized. Homes can be rebuilt, incompetent leadership can be removed, but the scars on the heart and soul might never heal, and the lives lost can never be replaced. This is going to be a very trying test of the human spirit, and the only advice that I can say to those who think that they'll never recover, I say to them "Not with that attitude, turn to God and imagine what The Lord and Savior had to endure, and he went the extra mile of all extra miles! So turn to prayer, stow away that bad attitude, and do God's work by pitching in a helping hand."

Prayers, rebuild, yes. Removal of the incompetent leadership -- not likely. "The definition of insanity is voting the same way over and over and expecting a different result.." - to paraphrase a pretty smart guy. Californians have a real problem of denial and recognizing cause and effect. What a painful wakeup call this is, will the people learn anything from it or carry on with no changes?

@@billybakey9139 Yeah, but it is the attitude they need to have. Times are hard, and will hurt, but one of the best ways to heal is you don't dwell on grief. You didn't see people quitting and giving up during the Blitz did you? No, you see a stalwart and resilient people able to endure the unendurable, people that went the extra mile! So I say to you, grieve if you want, but get back up, and do what needs to be done.

We've been praying for you guys brother. Father Rocky does the rosary live every night and we all have been praying really hard for you. I was stationed in California and love the state. So many people in the country think California is a state of heathens but that's not true. As an Orthodox Catholic I always appreciate your words. God bless. Yes... rebuilding will take years and is seemingly impossible with everyday. It's like a war zone. Not all these people are rich and not that it matters...so many jobs and businesses are destroyed. Many people were at work and couldn’t get to their homes to rescue them. The police had closed off the areas due to the fire raging. So even though they drove home, they were not allowed in. 😢 That’s why there were so many abandoned cars, not because people were being selfish. They were trying to go by foot to their houses.
