Just came across the below quote this morning from St. Ephraim the Syrian and found comfort in it. If a Saint felt this way, then I am certainly not alone! ""I know that I will be punished even for idle words, for evil thoughts, for mere desire. Yet as soon as an opportunity to satisfy my pleasures presents itself, I immediately forget everything, and like a fool indulge in all manner of sin. I am a vainglorious, wrathful cripple, a lazy, dissolute glutton, a sensualist covered with impurities who hourly strays into error--and I do not realize it. Only hope in the manifestation of Thy grace, O man-befriending master, consoles me and keeps me from despair. Whether Thou so desirest or not, save me, O all-good Lord, according to Thy great kindness."

“ Even if I make my bed in hell , you are there “ . Christ showers his grace upon the struggling sinner whose heart desires changes. At times when we can’t offer a prayer , tears of repentance and prostrations like the sinner woman who did not say one word are more than enough. We are all sooo weak and thank God where sin is , His grace abounds more. It seems the more the person is broken , the deeper the transformation ( st Mary of Egypt, saint paul etc.) . Their love for Christ runs sooo deep as they know His forgiveness more than someone whose heart is full of pride. lord help this person and us all who are struggling 🙏

Father Seraphim, this was one of the most moving responses you’ve ever given. As someone who is no longer allowed to receive communion in the Catholic Church due to my own sin, you brought tears to my eyes. ❤ your channel has helped me so much. While I can never become Orthodox (due to my banning) I do still pray and go to an Episcopal church and I have filled my prayer room full of Orthodox saints. I am so grateful for you Father. Peace to all my other sinners out there who are struggling with the past.

Please pray for me, Fr. Seraphim, and everyone who sees this. I struggle with scruplosity a lot, and I sometimes have these evil thoughts that come into my head. Sometimes they take the forms of "mental prayers" to Satan or to demons that I do not want to do or have but nevertheless I feel guilty about having them nonetheless and I feel like I have to constantly run to the confessional to be forgiven of them, and then I don't feel I have been truly absolved because I do not feel truly sorrowful or contrite for having them. Sometimes I think I really do pray to Satan mentally if even for a second because I am resisting God and true transformation, but again I do not want to. Even know as I attempt to explain this, I feel like I am maybe trying to rationalize my sin and exonerate myself of responsibility. Every priest I have talked to both East and West says these thoughts are not sins, but they still feel like it. It's been a real cross to bear or at the very least a terrible scourge. Please, pray for me.

Fr. Seraphim, I don’t know if you’ll ever see this, but I must let you know how valuable your talks have become in my life, and at a time where everything looks bleak. I’m a “Cradle Catholic,” who fell away from the church during my 20’s, 30’s, and beyond until recommitting my life to Jesus Christ 5 years ago. I hope that you continue posting them to YT. They have helped me through more than a few difficult times and dark times and help me feel less alone in what has now been over nine years of an almost complete isolated existence since my wife leaving me. Please pray for me as I will you. As everyone can see, there is a growing darkness and presence of evil, and this time, particularly in the United States. Pray for all of us. In Christ , Michael 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

David committed murder and adultery, and yet was called a man after God's own heart. This world is hardest on Christians because the devil hates us the most. Do not despair. As the Father states, pray for others. Help others, and God and Christ will help you and cleanse you. We all have our issues, and it is grace that will help us all. God bless and keep you. I love you. We all love you. Go forward and sin no more.

This is very beautiful Father. You came from a place where Christ lives and showed him the head of the path which will bring mercy to himself by praying in such a way as to bring mercy to his suffering brothers and sisters. I pray and believe that you lifted him up and sat him in a higher seat where he can find his way, delivered from your very heart to his. God bless you, Father; you are a tremendous blessing in the perilous times in which we live.

Father I can feel myself spiritually decaying. It is affecting my physical health. I am so tired, and I have been such a “taker” throughout my whole life. I came to the horrid realization recently that I am looking for something more evil than myself to somehow justify myself, and Father I think that is the definition of devil-worship. I feel I deserve no mercy, no pity, but I don’t want to die. I have built this cross but can’t find the first step toward carrying it. How do I love?

When you say that praying for my brother who is drowning as I am drowning brings Christ in our midst the thought comes to my mind as a lightening that how close we would be closer to heavens if we pray for each other especially for those who share our problems our sins and our sicknesses. It makes me realize that my physical, emotional and spiritual diseases and pains are gifts to be used to pray for others who share them with me. Thank you for helping us.

I really enjoyed this The orthodox view is kinda weird for me But i receive inspiration from Christ I think I can’t be orthodox or Christian because my sins weight me down I am ashamed of my sins But I am Hindu But I know this isn’t true orthodox view But I think god is universal I have noticed in the icons Christ making madras hand gestures That are used in Buddhism and Hinduism But I tried being Christian but I can’t be because of the dogma of certain beliefs But Christ has opened my heart and took away pain If it wasn’t for my meditation making a better person when I did it I have started doing it again But that’s been the only thing that has transformed me Into a better person But I have fallen from my state of higher consciousness That I had 10 years ago But I am trying to get back to a more loving and compassionate place And I don’t understand the orthodox teachings But this video inspired me in my suffering I will start praying for other people as I am in a he’ll right now And like the person you are responding too I feel too ashamed and unworthy to pray for myself

It does not matter how sinful you feel you are if you want to come to Christ in His Church he will welcome you. We have baptism for good reason none of us come in worthy so the church in her wisdom and obedience to Christ her bridegroom brings all her children to birth in the font. A book that might help you is The Gurus, the Young Man and Elder Paisios, it tackles the very challenges you are facing as it is the personal testimony of a Greek man who practiced Hinduism and then returned to Orthodoxy. St Paisios as we now know him is a spiritual champion for such wondering souls and is much loved in the Greek world for his rapid response to requests for help. Another book you might find interesting is Klaus Kenneth Bourn to Hate Reborn to Love. His story of conversion to Orthodoxy is a long painful one but gives hope it is possible for everyone to come in if they want to.
