If you've been considering making a DIY faith journal, then you have definitely come to the right place. Today, I show you how I set up my prayer journal and how to make a prayer journal for beginners. If you've been thinking about doing a DIY prayer journal or war binder, I hope this video is all the inspiration you need to do it because I really am so grateful I did! The difference between a traditional prayer journal and a war binder/prayer notebook is that you get to give yourself all that you need! There's also loose pages that you can flip through and move around as necessary and you don't run out of pages in your faith journal! I even show you how I make tabs to flip through in my prayer journal!
I think the key to how to set up a prayer journal only really comes down to knowing what you need.

I use a classic size happy planner! Because they have blank paper or I can cut down copy paper and hole punch it, that way it’s easy to move thing around and insert things like a binder, but without the extra bulk

I have a little journal that originally started as a personal diary then turned into a prayer journal as I find writing out my prayers easier than just doing it in my head, I get so distracted, I also Bible journal in it sometimes and stick greeting cards in it and it has got so fat it won’t close!!! I like your setup cause I always forget to look at my calendar so organized!

I have a big three fold Bible cover with lots of pockets. I call it my Bible Kit. In that (besides my Bible) I have a A5 folder I use for my prayers, gratitude and devotionals. I also keep my Bible study books in with my Bible as well. I belong to a KYB (Know Your Bible) group.

I just thought of a an awesome idea… A Binder Bible! You can easily add notes to a binder and it will allow for more room without messing up your binding. All you would need is some paper (craft paper, regular paper, really any kind of paper you want!) , a hole punch to punch holes in the paper then you keep adding to your Binder Bible!❤❤❤

I like that you included chores and planning, so it will really get used! We used to call those pages in your prayer journal "adhesive pages". I didn't know they made those any more. You have to be careful about long term storage because the contents can really get messed up with that adhesive.

@@HowtoFaithALife I’m unsure about heat, but that’s a possibility. In my case I went to remove photos and paper items and it damaged the back of some of my photos, tearing some. I had them in those albums for years and wanted to put things in pockets.

I think 3 ring binder is better because if it gets too full you can take some pages out and file them away

You can make a junk journal with things you have, out of boxes (seapanda channel show it very well)or you can buy a small binder and decorated (jaren t show it very well)

I need to get back into my prayer journal. The way I have mine set up is in 5 sections: 1 to focus on the attributes of God and bringing praise before God, 1 to confess my sin, 1 to seek the Lord w my prayers for myself, 1 to seek prayers for others, and the last is to sit before the Lord and let Him speak to me.

I just recently got one of these photo albums , I have a binder but I’m not loving it. I’m having a hard time because I have one for prayer & one for Bible study & I don’t look at it as much as I’d like too. I’m undecided on the sections I think that’s why I’m having a difficult time. Mine are all combined- the only issue I’m trying to figure out with mine is that it’s so big- it takes up my entire desk and so I store it more, and look at it less too! I’m currently trying to figure it out!

If you remember in the middle of your prayer journal that you have to do something or to ask God for forgiveness jot it down dont do it in your mind because you can go back and look to that ❤

Good question! They don’t line up perfectly, but honestly, I just “eye-balled” them!

in your sections for your mom, church, etc. do you pray the same prayer everyday or do you mix it up? That is what has always had me confused on this aspect of it.

I write down specific things to pray for(for them) in list form on those pages and then everyday I read over the list and pray for the things into the list and write down when they are answered or when they no longer apply

I view it as a journal is more fluid thoughts and prayers and a notebook is more like lists of prayers, but others might define it another way!

@@HowtoFaithALife when times are difficult and we can’t see to meet eye to eye. Of course not to break up or date will married but just a break. Like of to a sister house for acouple of days or just give each other time to think and reopen our heart to appreciate one another again.

Hmm that’s a hard one. I think space is so helpful but I’m not sure staying somewhere else is. Like I think it’s healthy to be like, “I’m going on a walk, let’s talk about this in an hour” but staying somewhere else for a couple of days seems to prevent good opportunities to talk things out in a healthy way or even just cry with each other- that you’re both mad at each other... if that makes sense. I think in marriage that should be a safe place to still be present and literally “there” for each other, even when your mind and heart isn’t always, because of fighting or whatever. But I don’t know y’all’s specific instance or relationship. Like, if there’s physical abuse, remove yourself!!!!! Is that helpful at all?
