If God sometimes heals and sometimes he doesn't, why doesn't James explain that to us? How can our faith grow when everyone has done everything the word tells us to do and it doesn't come to pass. Why would a non-believer want to commit his life to Christ if the bible sometimes works and sometimes it doesn't. I ask this because our Pastor just passed away from an illness and he was a true man of God and had so much more work to do here on earth. I can only conclude 1) The word is not true. 2) The elders are not truly faithful. 3) or the word has not been translated correctly from its original text to English. 4) No one prayed for the correct reason

Or God remains faithful and just took that man because his purpose for him on earth is done.

@@heisenbergkierkegaard3982 That still doesn't explain to me why the scripture did not come to pass as the bible states. Peter stated that every word in scripture is God breathed. Also, I am willing to bet you over 7,000 people would disagree with you in regards to his work being done. Thank you for your comment

If I could try to take some of this. Also I'm no grammer student haha 1) God does sometimes heal and somtimes he doesnt. Looking at this I think its benafical to understand we do see this in the bible and our perspective is a human percspective. So for example we read Moses prayed and it seems to us that God changed his mind because of that prayer! But here is Gods perspective. I believe he knows the beginning of all things and he knows the end of all things. He is fully outside of time. So everything in between our lives, prayers, our actions he already knows. So from Moses writing he prayed and it changed the mind of God is a human perspective. Where Gods is, he knew Moses was going to pray and he was going to be merciful and all of this worked out towards his will. The Lord is working out his will through everything and we really just have to fully trust in that like a kid trusts in Santa Clause. Think of Joeseph he was sold into slavery all in all to work out the will of God in even a hard circumstance. I am so sorry about the loss of your pastor and it is so hard to see the will in those situations. When we meet Jesus and we become more like him I do believe we will have more wisdom like Him and see the "Butterfly Effect" of our time in this broken world. 2) The word does teach us alot about the power of prayer. It almost seems to have intructions and it does Jesus teaches his disciples how to pray the Lords prayer. I think we need to step back and look at the big picture of what prayer does to praise God and thank God. We see all over Paul praying and talking about visting churches. Alot of those prayers are followed by Lord willing or if the Lord Wills. We have a lot of thoughts and emotions that might seem right or rightous in moment or depending on the event. We pray in faith for the Lords will to be done and when we ask we pray in faith meaning that we believe what the Lord has said he would do or that he can do what you pray. But in the end we pray that the Lords will be done. Our prayers might not always be what the Lords Will is for our lives. This by no means though says to not pray though because we commune with God and we pray and that prayer works on our hearts. There is no Magical correct way to pray but we bring our stresses and our concerns and our praises to the Lord and we give them to him full willingly knowing he is with us and we have a promise in Him that this broken world can never give us! And in all of that we pray for His Will because he knows what is best and what is going to work out his beautiful will even in hard difficult sistuations. Or if that even means not answering all of our prayers. An un answered prayer from God could be an answer of the direction his will is going. Example: Lord I prayed everything right please give me this job I worked so hard and faithfully let me have this job Lord willing. If I dont get the job I am fully willing to believe that it was the Lords will for me to not have that job.
