Because of the problems that are widespread today in the world, suffering, torture, wars etc. People, religious leaders and politicians are praying for God to help them. But the war and other problems are still going on. Why do problems persist? - First of all, God has already helped people and answered their prayers by giving them guidance through his word. His word shows the reasons why humans suffer and the things humans need to do to stop war and other problems. What are those things? Those things are loving each other, being united, living in peace and using the wisdom of his word. (Romans 12:9,10, 17-21. Proverbs 2:1-2,6). If we follow that guidence, problems like wars will end and peace will last. If we don't follow that guidance we will not succeed no matter how we pray.

This wonderful prayer makes me think of St John the Baptist, when he was a poor prophet urging the rulers to amend their ways and show love to their suffering people, to do this before the Day of Judgement. The same now, there's so much good the world leaders can do, especially in our country in US. Yet in states such as Florida the numbers if homeless families are staggering.
