I agree, it’s good to stay on good terms with everyone in your life parents siblings relatives friends kids spouse even just one of their prayers may be enough for your forgiveness, Allah knows what you have and don’t have

Ask for it, the story told had a son asking for forgiveness it's not as if women are less than in islam...

In instances like this when a son is mentioned it also includes a daughter. It is the same as saying your child.

Both girls and boys are included. We should make duas for them. No matter whether a daughter or a son sends blessings .... Keep doing it and teach your children so they will make it for us when we are gone...

I think the point is to raise your children in a way that they will be doing duaa for you after you die, but that’s because of your efforts towards them Allah is recognising their prayers now, imagine you gave Sadkah in a way that changed someone’s life, even their heartfelt duaa could be enough for your forgiveness which even ten of your children can’t do for you.

Every Muslim should pray for other Muslims specially who left this world .Allah SWT accept all the sincere duas of a Muslim for other Muslim no matter they have any relationship or not
