I was in the same situation, being addicted to multiple substances including heroin astaghfirullah. But Allah swt found me lost and guided me to the straight path alhamdulillah. Never give up akhi, with Allah swt everything is possible, for example me when I did heroin i overdosed (including the doctor telling me first thing after I got back my consciousness: you're very lucky to still alive, how close it was that I died. SubhanAllah Never ever give up akh❤

Keep listening to Quran and Reading/reciting it too. Also when you're anxious, keep repeating "AstaghfirAllah" many times. Also keep saying "Inna Lilahi wa inna ilayhi rajiyoon" repeatedly. Hope this helps

Please please can you read the second Dua slow so that we can write it down or anyone who knows it please can you type a comment of it here on the post so that others can use it. Out here there are people who are willing to use these Duas, am one of them i read them everyday only if i forget it. I swear duaa are for the perfectly pious only. Which contradicts the, if we never sinned we would be replaced, & the, He will answer duaa to improve/strengthen your faith. (Give something better or you get it in the next life.) Infact the more months you pray hoping & hanging on, the more mentally ill it makes you feel. I think the trick is, whatever you ask for, you'll never get. In 20 plus years, I'm over it. 😢 I know who created us but the duaa thing, the tahajjud thing, the arrow that never misses, yeah right. I'm so over being told to improve your condition or if you give up, that's just when He would have given it so its your own fault via the scholars. And if He never gives us a situation we cannot bear, why do we need duaa to help the horrific anxiety or situation many of us cannot bear?!! When He says, He made us weak & impatient? Sincere repentance would make you sin free, which should make your duaa have a greater chance of being answered by typical logic, & yet it doesn't matter how much of it you pray or ask for, NOTHING CHANGES. I tried just asking for random things, ask for everything these scholars say, when all the doors are closed ask from the heavens they say, I'm truly sorry but it just doesn't work. I pray before sleep, adopt sunnah, dont tell people my problems, say alhamdulillah on waking. The only thing I can ascertain is, what I think is me being authentic, God dislikes & doesn't. So then I must be delusional. After all, He knows best & I do not. I've taken steps to improve my situation, tried to sit back & just accept it, prayed for it to change. The facts are the facts, nothing changes. I genuinely think they're not even heard. The being shy & generous to return our hands when we ask, empty, in my case, isn't true. I have a body, a mind, eyes, limbs, food, heat, etc, etc, I know I have things to be grateful for, & know to compare to those with less, but again, duaa doesn't work.

Dua absolutely working. I'm the life examples but one thing you should understand you have to change your perception towards Allah. Trust him from your deep heart. Be humble, treat everyone nicely. Give sadaqah and everytime you give sadaqah make a dua for what you wish. Most important thing clean your heart. Hopefully Allah will give what you want.

Dua is a sign of a true believer even when it is not accepted. Do we love Allah just for getting all our prayers accepted. If he is not accepting then he knows better than us that the thing will bring more harm to us. Love Allah unconditionally.

I understand how hard it can be to feel like nothing is changing despite making dua, but let me remind you of something important: Allah knows what we don’t know. Sometimes we ask for something, thinking it’s good for us, but Allah is protecting us from something harmful. Allah says in the Qur’an: “Perhaps you hate something, and it is good for you; and perhaps you love something, and it is bad for you. And Allah knows, while you do not know.” (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:216) After making dua, you need to have tawakkul (trust in Allah) and believe that your dua is already accepted. The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said: “Call upon Allah with certainty that He will answer you. But know that Allah does not respond to a dua from a heart that is heedless or doubtful.” (Tirmidhi) If you make dua with doubt in your heart, thinking, “What if Allah doesn’t answer?”, you’re limiting your own faith. Maybe Allah is testing you until you fully realize that only Allah can solve your problems - not people. Stop running to people with your worries. They are just intermediaries, powerless like you. Instead, wake up at night and pray Tahajjud. Speak directly to Allah. Cry to Him, ask Him to remove your problems, and after that, believe that He heard you. Allah never ignores sincere duas, but He responds at the right time. Have trust. Allah knows your pain, and He knows when it’s best to give you relief. Keep making dua, and never lose hope.

Try your best .Do whatever you can do and even if the prayer is not heard then have trust in Allah that there is more goodness in non acceptance of that prayer. Because Allah knows what is best for us. You have to have full trust not just because he accepts your prayers.
