Well, I would pray in tongues but honestly still had my doubts. Then there were two different times that I was hearing a certain phrase repeatedly, and it was something I was able to spell out based on the sound...I spelled out exactly what I heard in google translate (I know...don’t judge me lol)...and in one instance it translated as “Holy Spirit you are Holy”!!!’ My goodness! It could have easily translated as hot hot or chair or something something, but no..! Wow. Then in another time I wrote the exact phrase I kept repeating and it turned out to translate as “God of light”! I just laughed and kept praying. Yes, the Holy Spirit does use our tongue 😄

Speaking in "tongues" is actually one spiritual language.It's the language that God and the angels speak to each other.Gods' "born again" children also speak this language but without, at this point ,understanding what we are saying.It is the indwelling Holy Spirit praying through us and for us.We first speak in this language as a result of the Holy Spirit baptism.This happens as a result of being filled to overflowing.That overflow happens, when we know He is filling us, yielding our tongue to the Spirit until He takes over control of it.Then He verbally bears witness that we have been " born of the Spirit". The Holy Spirit baptism IS recieving the Holy Spirit. Acts 2:38 is how we are born again according to John ch.3.

Let me share a testimony of my spiritual experience concerning the scripture in Romans 8:26. After I got born again in my spirit when I received the Salvation in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and filled with the Holy Spirit, within few days the "groanings" manifested in me. I did groan heavily when I am so touched in my prayer especially when I prayed deeply. It became part of my normal prayer life whenever I was so moved while praying, like pouring out a deepest supplication and gratitude before the LORD. It always manifests when I am praying in the spirit, and sometimes when I worship in the spirit. At its first manifestation I wondered why it happened, for I never heard of it before nor read of it in the Bible (at that time I had read only small portion of the Bible). But later on, I was amazed with exceeding gladness when I found it in the book of Romans. How I was so thankful to The LORD that He gives me such gift of praying in the spirit with groanings. For I know that the Spirit makes intercession for me with groanings when I know not what I should pray for as I ought. And that, I am sure that the Spirit is making intercession for me according to the will of God. This gives me a blessed assurance that The LORD hears my prayers. Thank You so much Father. Thank You. Each time I prayed with groanings, the burden that was in me before is released, and I became refreshed after the prayer. And I know that our merciful and gracious God is doing something good to whomsoever or whatsoever it is due, though I know not what I had prayed for. This kind of prayer was clearly demonstrated and had done a significant role when the Lord Jesus raised up Lazarus from the dead. It did goes along with the declaration of the Lord Jesus that He is the Resurrection and the Life, and had proved it by raising up Lazarus who was already buried for four days. I believe this is one of the precious gifts of the Spirit in the New Covenant. ( John 11:33-44 ) I hope this testimony will give more lights of truth, wisdom, knowledge and understanding to these certain scriptures. ( Romans 8:26-27 ) To God be the Glory and Honor alone. Blessings, Graces and Peace of The LORD our God be to all who read and consider the testimony. In the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Hey, I’ve started watching your videos regarding 9 Gifts of the Holy Spirit and wanted to learn more.. So I have a question.. When you are praying in tongues, are you also praying for something specifically in your mind? Do you have thoughts going on while speaking in tongues because sometimes I feel like my mind is empty when I’m praying in tongues. I’m new to this.. only been saved for 2 years, so still have a lot to learn. Especially when it comes to the Holy Spirit.

I know this teaching might seem genuine, but Paul said when I speak in tongues, my spirit prays - not the Holy Spirit praying through me. These are strange teachings - to say that the Holy Spirit prays to the Father through tongues - if such were the case, where does Paul say such a thing? Or when does it happen in Acts? Or where does it say in scripture that the Adversary doesn't understand languages?

What are you to do when tongues have never come to you so I just don’t ever get to do this vital thing called praying in the spirit. I only speak in English and nothing out of the ordinary has ever come into my head. It makes me feel inferior in my relationship with God that he wants us to do this but has not given me this ability.

I had to repent of my sins, I went through and out loud forgave everyone I could think of (family, friends, coworkers, everyone) I prayed for the gift and tried to say la la la but it came out in tongues for the next 2 hours!

Hey @Barbara Frey! This may be a really delayed response and I pray the Lord has increase in you since! But to address that inferior thought, don't ever feel inferior just because the manifestation of the tongues hasn't come yet. God loves you just the same! He has given us the SAME Spirit. Christ for all! I know in my own experience and a friend of mine had similar situation. I desire to pray in tongues but I haven't gotten it till one day a mature christian elder asked me if I wanted to pray in tongues. I said yes, so they prayed but nothing came out and they guided me to let it out of your mouth. Nothing our mind can control..it just rolls out of our mouths. I had to make sound till Holy Spirit took over and that was the beginning of my tongues. My friend also had same situation where she desire the tongues but nothing came .. but months later, she began speaking in tongue! It is a journey and a growth for all of us and God loves you just the same! The gift of tongues doesn't show we are holier or better..no, only Christ shows who we are and all the gifts of the spirit will follow. Hopefully this helps! We are together in this! And the bible says : If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing? If the whole body were an ear, where would be the sense of smell? But as it is, God arranged the members in the body, each one of them as He chose. If all were a single member, where would the body be? (1 corinths 12:17-19) The eye cannot say to the hand, "I have no need of you. " nor again the head to the feet, "I have no need of you" On the contrary, the parts of the body that seem to be weaker are INDISPENSABLE, and on those parts of the body that we think less honorable we bestow greater honor, and our unpresentable parts are treated with greater modesty, which our more presentable parts do not require.But God has so composed the body, giving greater honor to the part that lacked it, that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another. If one member suffers, all suffer. If one member is honired, all rejoice together. (1 corinth 21-26)

We already have a direct "bat-phone" to God through the blood of Christ. God hears all our prayers if we belong to Him, so why do we need tongues? So what, if the devil hears them.

What he means by the devil being a flesh devil is that Satan does not operate in the third spiritual Realm. He operates on the 1st and the second heavenly spiritual Realm. That's where psychics and those who use divination operates from. Satan is a spirit and not flesh like you and me, however he deals in the flesh meaning carnality.

The scripture says it's a sign to unbelievers, not a gift. Paul says we should come together with tongues, interpretations, teachings, songs, and others in 1 Corinthians 14:26. All things should be done for edification.

The Devil is not omnipotent nor is he omnipresent, you don’t have to speak in tongues for the devil not to understand your prayers. Edit: I am spirit filled and spirit baptized.
