@@Shyne282 Kinda, cuz I've seen some crazy stuff, like a mantis eating a Hummingbird while MATING. So that was pretty metal, but i mean i've also seen people put them against stuff like beetles, scorpions, spiders and wasps and when it's stuff like that, it's just a lost cause since the mantis wont be able to get through the exoeskeleton since it prays on soft bodied insects or it gets poisoned while trying. Overall most fights like those can easily be predicted (like this one) and I'd prefer watching them happen in the wild (like the one Hummingbird incident I mentioned earlier) but to each their own I guess.

​@@Shyne282particularly against giant spiders they do cause spiders are the largest of the insect world. But if you mean wasps, hornets, and any flying predatory insects they will rekt. Same for land predatory insects if they are small enough to be in the mantis claws they will lose. But definitely not overrated, it just comes down to the fact people put very large predatory insects against mantises in videos. As if they suppose to win.

I had a mantis as a pet and one day in the enclosure which was open some flying moths sat for no reason, maybe because it was close to a nearby lamp. The mantis was a bit smaller than the moths, but it started eating one of them. I was happy, I didn't need to feed it for some days. A hour later, I was surprised to find out there were no more moths left and I thought they must have flew somewhere else in the room. To my surprise, I didn't found any moths, not even a single one around. Then a SUDDEN THOUGHT PASSED ONTO MY HEAD. There could be no way all of them got eaten up one after another! Its stomach didn't even inflated that big, but damn, U can see the dark pink lines. Seemed full streched, yet still half way. Sadly, my Mantis also passed away in about 10 days because of indigestion. I never in my life thought it's just a killing machine which will never stop until nothing moving is visible around. It just keeps going, doesn't even have a clue if its hunger is gone, like the hunger was never present to begin with. Absolute surreal stuff.

@@eddierobledo6975 They can die of improper digestion. Basically blockage as their food was too big to eat and not broken down enough to pass through their digestive system. Happened to me with a baby dragon and crickets. I was ill informed by a pet store of all places. You're supposed to chop them into small pieces. I felt responsable especially trying to connect to it as a pet. You start judging yourself as what kind of parent you would be if you can do that to a pet.

Back when I taught in Columbus, Ohio, my class and I would go on nature walks during the spring and the boys would catch preying mantises like the one in this video. They'd put each one in it's own box with saran wrap covering (yes, they made sure it had breathing holes!). Then they'd catch some locusts and proceed to feed our mantis friends. Those mantises are beasts!

Mantis wouldn't had an issue since the locusts are not eating other insects,they just saw green and thought that this was a plant or something and were climbing in the mantidae! And even if the mantis was smaller im not sure if the locusts would do something to it,the mantidae eventually emerged victorious (no surprises there) because of its bigger size & its ferocious nature!
