It's probably because newer kpop songs tend to cater to western audiences more that the actual kpop essence of ballads and songs like EXO does, may not resonate with you. It's a matter of taste... So yes... It may or may not be your type... But EXO does a lot of genres and are one of the most versatile groups... This whole set doesn't even scratch the surface of their discography
