Unfortunately he is again making an error. He says that |-a| = a. But that is very wrong if a is negative! So be careful! "This guy" is so good! Yes, in making errors!

Do you agree that the absolute value of -a is not a if a is negatieve. You say the answer is positieve a but that is still wrong if a is negative because positive a is negative if a is negatieve. You say that you are an experienced teacher . Why do you teach the wrong things about math? See also my comments on other videos where you make series.

When he says the absolute value of -a is positive a, this is because the definition of absolute value is essential a number’s distance from zero. Assume “a” = 3. That would mean “-a” is equal to -3. Therefore, the inverse of that statement would be true. When he says the absolute value of “-a” is “a,” he is referring to the positive version of that value. Hope this helps.

@@stefansimons7920 If a is -3 he says that |-a| is positive a. So he talks about "positive -3" And that expression does not exist is math. We have positive and negative values . You can talk about 3 as positive 3 and about -3 as negative 3, but not about things like "positive -3" and that is what he does if he talks about positive a when a is negative. For his "positive -3" we invented the expression of the absolute value!
