I suspect Hobbs now wishes he finished the race, but the trip into the infield would have been so shocking for him, I can understand his decision at the time to stop. Great shame, Hobbs is tremendous.

Mary, a bigger talent than Keely? I don't think so. For starters, Keely will be planning to run under 1min 55sec in Paris, and only Athing is also capable of that. Don't forget, Mary hasn't run under 1min 56sec yet, and Keely has run sub 1min 56secs four times. Mind you, I'd love to see what Mary could do if she " straightened out" 😊 her running technique.
