is there anything you can recommend that keeps folks data safe? i'm super new to URL parameters, but i understand that exposing PII (like names and email addresses, which often contain folks names) in URL parameters is risky.

For sure - pass arbitrary unique identifiers through the URL and then have a helper table somewhere in your doc that ties those identifiers back to sensitive information
