Those subscription boxes look so fun! I got a "steam" type subscription box for Cyrus (one that's available locally) and he now recognizes the box when it arrives and is excited for the project. Kumon has the whole series of "Let's Cut Paper" "Let's Color" "Let's Sticker and Paste" and those are fantastic.

I’m a bit long-winded here for a new sub, but I wanted to say your daughter is more advanced than my *fifteen year old* son Stephen who also has DS, Autism, global developmental delay, blah blah. He makes my heart sing everyday and I just cannot imagine life without him. 😊 I would *love* for him to be able to colour in like your daughter’s sample, but it’s okay for me that he can’t yet after 15 years.😎 He’s around 22 months’ old developmentally. Of course this is so untypical of others with DS, but I accept him the way he is. I’ve learned not to compare him to anyone else, not even to other children with DS. That’s not to say we don’t aim high or set goals; we want Stephen to be the best he can be 😊 It’s term 2 of our second year homeschooling (Aussie school year begins end January), and we love it. I use Fun Hands-On Learning materials, in particular the 2-3 year old Hands-On 2 Learn Preschool Curriculum (available on Teachers Pay Teachers) which is so colourful, engaging and so tactile which works best for my son. I recommend you check it out! The brains behind it is Amanda, a former school teacher and mum of 8 (including one with DS). “This curriculum provides a hands-on approach to introducing preschoolers to formal concepts such as alphabet letters/sounds, numbers/counting, colors, shapes, and fine motor skills in uniquely fun ways!” - and it really delivers that 😊 It features in the KZbin video “Preschool Curriculum for ages 2&3 Overview, activities, lessons” on her channel FunHands-On Learning (2 years ago). Best of all we get to watch Amanda demonstrating materials, often while teaching her own children. It takes Stephen 2-3 weeks to cover the supposed “weekly” units, but that’s okay, too; it’s not a race for him. 😊 Looking forward to binge-watching your channel!

That's beautiful. I will have to check out that curriculum. No worries about being long winded at all. I am long winded... lol But also, that sample was mostly me coloring trying to model it for her so she would. But she just scribbled.

Hi! Thank you for your channel. It is one the most helpful tools that I use with my 5-yo boy with Down Syndrome and we live in Florida too. I decided to homeschool him because of you and Naomi. That was something that I never would consider in the past until I discovered this KZbin channel. By the way,( and I know this is not a casualty, we are Christian ) I watched that you was introducing music and Spanish to your children. I have a daughter that teaches music to children including children with disabilities and she speaks Spanish too. She will be talking about fine motor skills through the instrument playing in an online interview next July 30th for the University of South Florida . If you and your followers wants to know more about I can give you the info

My boy has ASD and ADHD different things but it can be a one of a kind feeling when you think okay he's a fifth grader so we buy 5th grade curriculum then he can't do any of it you do a placement test and he is more 1st/2nd grade level the school was just pushing him along. And that turned into a rant sorry. You're awsome and your daughter is so lovely and doing great. Thank you for your videos
