@@melancholymaids3032 Bec did become a sprite, however, when he fused with Jade's dead dreamself he ceased to be his own individual. Just like Davepetasprite^2 , who does have the personality traits of both Dave and Nepeta, but they are neither. Besides, saying that that Bec "didn't stop being his own character" isn't really accurate. Bec is a First Guardian, like Doc Scratch, but he does not have much of an identity like him. He is, after all, a fusion between an omniscient crystal ball and a dog. And just like Jasprosesprite^2 said when asked about her gender (since she is a fusion of Rose and her MALE cat, Jaspers), animals don't really have a strong sense of identity, hence why she still refers to herself as female. Same thing applies to all your examples. Tavrosprite was later fused with GCat, but he retained his own identity since GCat, just like Bec, is a fusion between an omniscient crystal ball and a cat. Davesprite stopped being Davesprite the moment he fused with Nepetasprite. And as for Equiusprite, he was fused with Dirk's autoresponder and became a different person, while still retaining some of Equius' identity. So yes, some of his personality was passed on to Jade when she became Godtier, but Bec has, in fact, stopped existing as a standalone being.

Edit: 7-8 years later and i’m much more versed in the homestuckage, I find it very funny that I was right on the nose based on the music alone, didn’t even know who Jade was. Since then Nepeta’s my favorite and still deserves justice. Haven’t really looked into the sequel though.

Ealonex *[Spoilers up until [S] Collide, duh.]* Because it was used to let Jade know to fight Bec Noir/Blanche. My guess is that Calliope added the note to it, though, but it's still the same one. After her dream self was killed, she wasn't able to see visions from Prospit anymore, and had no way of using the bands. But she kept one, because she felt it was highly important, which is the one used to let her know to stay away from Condy, and fight the two Bec's. It was also cool because it was a throwback to the beginning of the comic. Vriska brought it up, "That means someone has to tell her. And if not in person, in some other way. Perhaps leave a reminder for her. May8e tied to her finger or something. :::;)" So it was just really cool to see it be called back to.

Why did Jade turn grimdark if she wasn’t rebelling against her classpect? Rose went grimdark because she kept on taking advice from the Horrorterrors and Doc Scratch, which means she was taking advice from bad people as opposed to predicting the most fortunate path. Meanwhile, Jade manipulates space, which isn’t the opposite of getting told what to do by the Condesce.

The opposite aspect to Space is Time, and the opposite class to the Witch is the Heir. Jade would thus need to act like an Heir of Time, a mix of my and Dave's classpects (Heir of Breath, Knight of Time) to go grimdark, which seems unlikely.
