Square did something similar for FFXI. When they released "Rhapsodies of Vanadiel," it was supposed to be the last story content for the game because Square expected to soon end FFXI service (their first MMO). For the end song, they asked players to sing a short chorus and submit it. They took those submissions (couple of thousands, I think) and made it part of the official song. As the song reaches it's end, you can hear this large chorus of all these FFXI players' voices ending the song that ends the game's story. This was in 2015 and, despite Square thinking the game would be ending soon, it's still going pretty strong. It was the most profitable FF game until FFXIV relatively recently surpassed it. FFXI celebrated its 20 years of service this year.

I really wish that Square would take the time to integrate some of the popular quality of life mods, port it, and update the log in process if possible. I know 11 is never going to be what it once was, but its still running and definitely could be reaching a larger audience than it is and it's different enough from 14 to have its own audience. A discounted bundle sub would be great.

Meme aside, the answer i believe is because at the time Mike was predominantly new to the game and havent reached Endwalker yet, let alone SHB ( i believe). Keep in mind this is happening when the time Zepla was still in Ukraine during her AWUWU with the girls.

late to the party here but: I would say Zepla's the heart of the community, personally. Everyone in the comments feel free to correct me if I am wrong, because quite easily I could see myself as being wrong. But for *me* she was the first 14 content creator I came across who actually did some decent content, and gave positive opinions and outlooks, even going so far as to say 'Yeah, we'd *like* for Warcraft to become better, we're not wishing ill of it.' Which is a good take. I would say, in my opinion, that makes her a 'Heart' of the community.

@@rednova2212 She disappointed me, because for me XIV and its community mean alot. And she betrayed both. I do not blame her, what with the war and all she had to endure, she lost the plot a little bit. It's just that instead of getting strength from the supposed thing she supposedly was the heart of, she ended up resenting it. I won't speak for other fans, but for one, I wouldn't. It would give me strength and make me love it even more. I mean, there's no way a war will happen, during ENDWALKER of all times, and I won't be sleeping and waking up with its and music in my mind. She became jaded.
