Watching Mike undo his knowledge of mounting (It is diminishing returns, it's just that some monsters are more susceptible to it) is just hard to watch.

Preach's big mistake in this game is the fact that he doesn't understand that some things in this game are so unintuitive that you absolutely cannot figure it out yourself.

Tho he does considerably well despite of it. And many don't need to minmax that extremely. If you are content with fighting Fatalis as your final boss: His knowhow will be enough.

It's actually really intuitive and simple. Just do everything.

It's very intuitive if you just hunt more monsters. Mike has basically been blazing through new monster new monster new monster. He undid his knowledge of mounting today, just because he never encountered a monster that has a low mounting resistance. It's diminishing returns still, but Jho is more easily mountable than most monsters. Similarly Kushala is really easy to known down if you just hit it in the head, even with sharp weapons. They get more resistant to it when you do it a bunch, but it remains an easy option even after 3 times.

@@ChrisMorray "it's very intuitive" attack boost is one of the worst offensive skills in the game. I have over 400 hours and I still don't know the activation conditions of latent power. I could keep going on and on but I'll stop with weapon bloat values which can completely mislead new players. It's my favorite game too but you can stop pretending it's not a fucking mess to digest it all at any pace without copious amounts of outside resources.

@ Attack boost is good if you have a set geared towards it, it just needs a lot of investment. Latent Power activates every 5 minutes, or if you take a certain amount of damage it'll activate immediately. That one shouldn't be confusing after like 3-4 hunts with it. It's a mess in some niche aspects, but let's not pretend like most of it isn't perfectly intuitive 90% of the time. One or two skills being outliers in this regard does not make it "a fucking mess". Don't be a drama queen.

That was a good enough catch-up day that this really could be the last week. We'll have to see, though, since the final challenge isn't meant to be solo'd by anyone but the most experienced players.
