Preamp Box Retest

After the last VHF preamp box tune up and testing, the numbers of the gain and Noise Figure just didnt make sense, so I have been told ha ha... So here is an update..

Hello again Mike.. Well if you can believe it after that last video it still went bad on me.. Gain went down, NF up!! What I found in the one big relay was that I had to resolder the actual contact on the SMA connector pin.. It was soldered on solid but removing it and then back fixed it good.. So far.. Going to check it again tomorrow . SKIP

if there isnt, a rubber O-ring or something like it around the lid + some kind of desiccant to adsorb any moisture would help I belive, but i am unsure of the long term effects of a sealed box in the weather.

Yes there is a rubber O ring around the lid or cover.. This fiberglass box was designed as a weather proof box used in the oilfield.. I had a opening at the bottom that let the 7/8 hardline come in and it was open.. But sometimes its better to have things breath also.. Before this its been up there for close to 20 years, working well until now.. So it was time I guess.. This time I am going to apply that sealant around the hole.. It will be fine.. Thanks, Skip
