I first heard him preach when i was around 14 - my aunt & mom used to have his cassette tapes. His preaching would pierce my soul!! I thank GOD for blessing my aunt & mother to come across this pastor. This teaching is scarce now but GOD has raised a faithful few who will not stray from feeding HIS sheep the true gospel. Blessed are those that hunger & thirst after righteousness for they shall be filled!! Glory to GOD!

I was a child when my family attended this church. I remember the sermons of its HOLINESS or HELL! Now so-called pastors are always prophesying about your money is coming, and God wants you to be happy. But nothing about repentance and living a righteous life for God.

So how did you know it was not right when they had the holyghost and you were trying to seek after goal. Real saints dont need make up. Only the dead in trespass need that because they are not connected to the Savior. You feel in adequate and compensate with make up etc.

A daily intake of the Word of God or reading the Bible daily is essential because it is the Word of God that makes us spiritually minded, for the scripture has said Now ye are clean through the word, which have spoken unto you (John 15:3). So the Word of God, when we read it, cleanses or washes our minds and puts our minds on God so that we may live by His Word and do the Will of God.

Furthermore, God wants us to be different from the world in our clothing, in our thinking and in our actions, but God does not want our garments if our hearts are not right and tender towards Him. If we do not give God our hearts and surrender all to Him, God will not accept our garments, our sacrifices, or our works.

Furthermore, we cannot live according to God's Law without trusting in God (Proverbs 3:5-6) and He will help us live by it. Where do we find God's Law? It is written throughout the Bible. The Bible shows us how God wants us to live in this present world. I totally agree with you that there is more to salvation than clothing or apparel because salvation is not just about changing our clothing, but about changing our actions, lifestyles and mentalities.

In the same chapter it goes on to say that the carnal mind is not subject to the law of God and neither indeed can be (Romans 8:7), which means that with a carnal mind we will never obey the law of God. So when we accept Jesus Christ as our personal savior ,our minds are renewed through Him and we become spiritually alive because when we did not have Christ we were spiritually dead. In order for we as Christians, to please God, we must have a daily intake of the Word of God.

Furthermore, without having faith in God it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6). It is bad judgment when people put an emphasis on the outward appearance and forget about or neglect the inner man (the inside). If a woman wears pants or any other male related apparel or if a man wears female related apparel, can they still be considered saved? ABSOLUTELY YES!!!

However, there is good news, Jesus paid the price for our sins by dying on the cross and rising from the dead for our justification (Romans 4:25), which makes him qualified to free us from our sins. The scripture has also said that we are saved by grace through faith and not of works, lest any man should boast (Ephesians 1:8). So we are saved by accepting what Jesus did at Calvary and we accept this gift by asking for forgiveness of our sins.

There is absolutely NOTHING that we can do to give ourselves salvation because all of our righteousness is as filthy rags before the Lord (Isaiah 64:6) and one portion of the scripture says that there is none that doeth good, no not one (Romans 3:12). So there is no good deed or work that we can do that can pay the price for our sins and free us from the bondage of sin.

You touched on an issue that is controversial among many Christians, but I can only say what the Bible says: and it states that the woman shall not wear that which pertaineth to a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment, for all that do so are abomination unto the Lord thy God (Deuteronomy 22:5). Many people say that since this scripture is in the Old Testament, it is no longer relevant in our day.

We believe these things based on faith in God's Word according to Romans 10:17. We understand that Jesus is the expressed image of God according to Hebrews 1:3. Also in that same chapter the Father acknowledges Jesus as God according to Hebrews 1:8. We also know that Jesus is the manifested presence of God according to John 1:1 and John 1:14. This ministry was not apostolic in the sense of Oneness Pentecostalism. It was and is a Christian ministry in the Holiness/Pentecostal tradition led by a godly apostle who centered upon the person and work of Jesus of Nazareth, who is the Christ the Son of the Living God. Pastor Washington preached the gospel of Christ and pointed men to Jesus and the God's truth found in the Bible, the Word of God. We in Tabernacle believe in the Cardinal doctrines of the Christian faith and tradition.

These linen breeches are also called short trousers or pants, which shows that shorts and pants were originally meant for men and not women because there is no mention of breeches for women in the Bible. According to Deuteronomy 22:5, it also states that men should not wear a woman's garment, which includes skirts, blouses, women's under garments, and any other type of female apparel. Since the Bible calls these actions an abomination unto God, then it displeases God and it is therefore sin.

After asking for forgiveness of our sins, does that mean we continue to live sinful lifestyles? ABSOLUTELY NOT because it defeats the purpose for the reasons why Jesus came to this earth, which was to free us from the bondage of sin so that we could serve Him and live according to God's Law. Also Jesus came to bring humanity back into fellowship with their creator and help us escape the fate of going to Hell and eventually the Lake of Fire.

@postrero228 Thank You for your comments, but I want you to understand that I don't believe that there are three gods, I know according to scripture that there is only One God. I do not discredit any scripture because I believe they all connect and that there is no contradiction in scripture. I know that 1 John 5:7 says that For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. According to this scripture these three make up one God.

You can call it brain-washed teaching, but having our minds cleansed, washed, renewed, or transformed is essential in our daily walk with the Lord for without the cleansing of the mind through the Word of God, which is the Bible, we cannot please God. You have also said that the Tabernacle of Prayer teaches Legalism, which refers to doctrine that believing on Jesus Christ and asking for forgiveness of our sins is not enough for us to receive salvation.

@postrero228 When the Father said this in Genesis, it was also Jesus and the Holy Spirit speaking as well. Jesus appears in different parts of the Old Testament and that includes Genesis 18:1 when Jesus appears to Abraham, then Jesus appears again in Genesis 32:30 to Jacob. Then in Exodus 33:21-23 Jesus appears to Moses, but He only allows Moses to see his back parts. Then in Joshua 5:14-15, Jesus appears to Joshua.

@postrero228 The reason for this was because, the Holy Spirit overshadowed Mary and while the Holy Spirit overshadow her, Jesus put himself into Mary's womb according to Luke 1:35. It had be done this way because only one that is without sin could redeem mankind back unto God because every child that is born through procreation is born in sin and is therefore a sinner. But Jesus was not born by the will of the flesh, but by the will of God, so Jesus was without sin.

@postrero228 In the New Testament, Jesus takes on the likeness of sinful flesh because in the Old Testament Jesus appeared in his glorified body and in all parts of scripture where he appears he just pops up on the scene and then disappears. However, in the New Testament goes through the natural process of birth, in which he comes out through the birth canal of a woman and grows up like a normal child. But Jesus' birth was supernatural.

So we have to believe these things based on faith according to the Word of God, which is the Bible. The Father was involved in creation, Jesus was involved in creation according to Revelation 3:14.

Yes Apostle Johnnie Washington did believe that Jesus is God and the Tabernacle of Prayer believes in the Godhead. For we know that the Godhead is made up of three. Three make up one God and this is backed up by scripture according to 1 John 5:7 which basically says that there are three that bear record in Heaven, The Father, The Word, and the Holy Ghost and these three are one. This cannot be understood intellectually or logically because we believe these things based on faith.

After salvation, do we have to live according to God's Law? YES, but because of Adam's sin we all were born in sin and shapen in iniquity (Psalm 51:5) , which meant we had a sinful nature, which hindered us from obeying God's Law. However, by accepting Jesus as our savior and turning away from sin, we cast off the old nature (the sinful nature) and put on the nature of Christ (Ephesians 4:20-24) and we are now able to fulfill the righteousness of the Law (Romans 8: 3-4) or obey the Law of God.

I did not spend all this time on this one topic because it is the most important sin and that it is above all other sins, but I just wanted to explain it clearly to you and to others that will view these comments. I want to make it clear that a woman can wear skirts all they want and still go to Hell because there are more sins than just the one I have mentioned in my earlier comments. How about the scripture that says what ever is not of faith is sin (Romans 14:23).

@postrero228 In this part of Scripture, Jesus expresses himself as the Captain of the host of the Lord. The last part of scripture that I know of Jesus appearing in the Old Testament is in Daniel 3:24-25 when the Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego was thrown in to a fiery furnace, but King Nebuchadnezzar saw another man that he did not put in the furnace and Nebuchadnezzar described him as the Son of God. This fourth man was Jesus. Jesus is seen throughout the Old Testament.

You have said in your comments that what is taught in the Tabernacle of Prayer is "brain-washed teaching" and you are right because the scripture said Be ye transformed in the renewing of our minds (Romans 12:2). Our minds must be renewed in order for we as Christians, to serve God because our minds are carnal or fleshly and we cannot serve God with a carnal mind. For the scripture has said that to be carnally minded is death and that the carnal mind is enmity against God (Romans 8:6-7).

@JesusSaves2341 By Jesus being the beginning and the ending, proves that Jesus existed before time and will exist after the end of time. There is no ending to the Godhead which consist of the Father, the Word (Jesus) and the Holy Spirit.These three are not three different Gods, but all three make up one God according to 1 John 5:7.

Furthermore, the doctrine of Legalism also contains the belief that in order to receive salvation we must do additional works or duties. This doctrine is not biblical and neither I or the Tabernacle of Prayer hold this belief, for we go according to what the Bible says from Genesis to Revelation. Salvation is a free gift that we receive when we believe on Jesus Christ in our hearts, believing that God raised him from the dead, and confessing our sins unto Christ. @postrero228 Jesus is the perfect choice to redeem mankind because He is the manifest presence of God and is therefore God according to John 1:1, Colossians 2:15, and 1 John 5:7, he was not born by the will of the flesh, but the will of God according to John 1:13, and he is a direct descendant of Adam according to Luke 3:23-38. Also no man could redeem us from sin, that only one that could do that, is God and He did redeem us.

@postrero228 Jesus existed before he came down to earth and made himself in the likeness of sinful flesh. This is proven at different times in the old testament. Let me start with Genesis. In Genesis 1:26 God said let us make man in our own image, now we know that God is a spirit and he can not be seen. So then, who is the image of God, that is Jesus according to Colossians 2:15,19, Hebrews 1:3, John 1:1,14, John 14:7-9. So the image of the Godhead is Jesus.

@postrero228 Jesus redeemed us by His blood (His blood cleanses us from all unrighteousness) and by raising from the dead for our justification according 1 John 1:9 and Romans 4:25. We are cleansed from our sins and are justified, when we accept Jesus Christ as our savior by believing that he died and rose from dead, and then asking for forgiveness of our sins, being willing to turn away from our sins. Once our sins have been forgiven, we must live according to God's Word, which is the Bible.

@postrero228 According to scripture it is understood that Jesus has always been the manifested presence of God and according to Colossians 2:15-17 Jesus is the image of the invisible God, he created all things and all things were made for Him and that Jesus is before all things. This proves that Jesus always existed and did not become God when he was on earth. According to Revelation 1:8, Jesus said he is Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending.

Jesus came to provide a better way to obey the commandents of God and to provide the perfect and final atonement for our sins. By us receiving him as savior and believing that he died on the cross for our sins and rose for our justification, and asking for forgiveness of our sins and turn away from our sins we are made righteous and justification, which means is like we have never sinned.

However, when it is revealed to them, what the Bible says, they have a choice to either give it up and ask for forgiveness before they die or continue doing it and risk losing out on eternal life in Heaven and risk spending eternity in the Lake of Fire. Sin is sin and there are no big sins or little sins, it is just sin and God hates it all and no flesh shall be justified in his sight (Romans 3:20).

@postrero228 Therefore, this makes Jesus the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all humanity. Because of Adam's sin in the garden of Eden, sin passed on to all of us and we now were seperated from God and now had a sinful nature. So because of Adam's sin, we all became sinners in the eyes of God. Since Adam sold us into sin, only his direct descendant could bring us out of sin, but the descendant had to be without sin. Jesus is a direct descendant of Adam, which makes him the perfect choice.

However, when something is an abomination to God it will always be an abomination because God does not change because He is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8). According to this scripture, God is therefore displeased with women wearing any type of clothing that pertains to or is identifiable with a man, which includes pants, shorts, men shirts, men hats, ties and any other type of male apparel.

So this scripture means that we cannot bring our sinful nature into Heaven because God is Holy and His nature is Holy and sin is the opposite of His nature and will therefore not enter into Heaven. The scripture says to rend your heart and not your garments (Joel 2:13) and many people use this scripture the justify the wearing of certain clothing.

The belief in three gods is heretical teaching and is a polytheistic teaching, which no scripture in the Bible backs up. I do not believe this heretical teaching and neither do I embrace it.
