I think the biggest challenge is finding a way to repurpose plastic into something that people want. I mean, those lamp shades, garbage bins and picture frames are nice and all, but how many can you make before you don't need anymore? Also, a lot of the plastic I have tends to be clear, making for unintersting designs.

I love all these videos. I just discovered you tonight but I have been playing around with HDPE off and on for a few years. recently I was inspired to start laminating other scrap materials that often get tossed in the trash, cotton and canvas. But I think I've really got something here when I decided to laminate Window Screen mesh. I used A common cloths iron and parchment paper and I got a strong flexible material that looks like carbon fiber and when I stack the sheets and keep laminating them together it just keeps getting stronger. Keep up the awesome work here and I wish you all the best in solving this plastic problem! Peace

I discovered your website and KZbin Channel only in the summer of 2019. Slowly I'm going through you older videos. More and more I realize that you have done a great job in pioneers work. It's amazing what you and your followers (because YOU put everything on the internet as an open source) have reached until now. And I'm sure it's getting bigger and bigger and spread out more and more over the world. Thanks for making this videos and share your vision. Our children and grandchildren are and will be very happy with people like you.

This is really cool! I will be watching more. I haven't really worked with these types of plastics although I have worked with Bakelite (phenolic resin thermoset plastic) in making and repairing vintage jewelry. Bakelite was the first synthetic plastic invented by Leo Baekeland in 1907. It's a fascinating study, as well as what you are doing here. I applaude you!

I am a Nomad from Canada some classify me as homeless But I consider myself at home. how many people wake up to a wild pet duck nipping at your feet to say hello. I want to set up a studio that makes mobile pods that can be towed by a bicycle. I have a friend that is the director of Canadian Aboriginal Business Affairs. They have Grants for projects Like this. I want to hit a few Birds with one stone. theres guys that spend all day walking for beer bottles add plastic to the mix. more jobs. I have a few models that im currently developing for the pods. I am also in development of an ebike that charges off grid. But I want it so you can take it to the water. I also want to make a symphony of 3d printers to print off things like full dining room tables or a 6 m boat or a car door. really big items.

Do you 3D print too or just mold and shape your plastic? You seem to have machines that could make filament. Plastic recycling shops would be nice just so I don't have to throw it away. I hope it makes the value of the plastic go up somewhat. I typically only recycle aluminum and copper but it small batches because it has to fit in the trunk of my car. I don't want a truck, they are hard to see the back end of, often gas guzzlers, and sometimes do not handle well enough.

This needs scaling up a bit. Why not units to turn out larger pre fabricated sections for emergency housing for those countries hit by natural disasters. Plastic housing would be relatively quick and easy for indiginous labour to erect, safe against earthquakes and with the raw material so widespread and available the costs would be relatively low. Something solid would be better than the tents used at present. It would need a bit of capital to get off the ground maybe from one of the international disaster agencies.

it would be nice to find a way to use it on 3d printers. maybe make a different type of 3d printers beause the current 3d printers don't encourage in recycling rather they increase plastic waste. I was thinking of making 3d cnc machine that could engrave plastic blocks which u make from recycling plastic. you could make different shapes and designs with cnc engraver. the only problem is that I am not very technical, and I am hoping someone could design the machine and share the blueprint. it would be nice to make smaller version of shredding machines so that regular households can buy them, and would be able to recycle. no one is going to buy or build a big machine unless they have a work shop but if you want to get everyone involved, then you must design smaller size machines (no more than the size of a juice blender). once you could sell small shredding machines, you could also design and sell mould to make blocks which you could use on a small cnc engraver machine (we need to make a small size that could be used in any household).

I think creating some kind of insulated brick for building homes would be great. Maybe we could figure out how to recycle polystyrene and use CO2 as a blowing agent to produce large foam filled bricks. Or build a larger scale 3D printer design that can print "SIPs" out of recycled plastic. Print plastic shells, then put PU spray foam into them. With a good CAD design program you could split a house into many little puzzle pieces that get 3D printed, filled with insulation foam and then glued together.

Alexey Zaytsev yes there is a risk but you don't need to get your hands near the blades at all you just drop the plastic... If anyone need to make it safer they only need to add a simple cover on the top of the funnel and a simple one underneath to avoid accidental contact with the blades.
