Short story; We had an office event where everyone was supposed to cook something from home and bring for us to eat together. They call it potluck. I followed this video and made hotpot and took to the event. I did it with chicken but tweaked the recipe slightly by frying shrimps in the tomatoes and other spices. Also, when boiling the potatoes, I didn't just boil them. I boiled in a paste of spices mix so that the potatoes soak up spices and not just taste "blank" when you eat them. I didn't even test it then I carried to the event... hehehe... my white colleagues LOVED IT. One from Malaysia said I just took her back home. The Indian loved the crunchiness of the vegetables. They all accused me of playing down how good my dish was so as to make them shocked more when they taste it. When I got there I just said, I brought potatoes.
