Bought a PM-1224 last year. Same but shorter to fit my shop. About 4 month lead timeout out of Taiwan. Installed VFD. Built stand using 8020 and Footmaster casters. Very pleased. Use mostly for steel core pins.

Nice. If I was setting up a workshop with machine tools I'd seal the concrete floor so coolant and lubricants don't soak into the concrete and permanently stain it.

What did you use to get the oil coating off the metal parts?

it would have been nice if you put phone down and help driver by pushing up driveway, unless you tipped him wel.... thats from a delivery persons perspective.

The music is annoying. Would rather hear the real audio. Is the distance be tween centers actually 36 with the tailstock on? Interested in using for lathe building. People are wanting longer and longer cues. 31, 32,33,34 etc. Thanks

What a great video, you've got another subscriber! Been looking at this exact lathe for months. Don't quite have room for it yet, but getting close. You did an excellent job in getting interesting and useful shots. Good lighting and sound too! Looking forward to your next video providing some info on the DIY(?) stand and the VFD. I see you elected to get the 3-PH model to avoid delays. Been considering that, but when I watched a video on the VFD install on another PM lathe, it looked like quite an undertaking. Not really even close to plug 'n play. Been trying to decide whether to go with the PM-stand for the lathe vs. perhaps using a 56 inch rolling tool chest (one of the beefy ones that weigh ~400 lbs empty) as the base (would modify to provide adjustable length fixed legs to lift it slightly above where the casters touch. Did you consider getting the DRO? Are you adding it yourself? PS: Hope you tipped the UPS dude, he was awesome!

I think the tool chest would work if there is no flex, as there will be vibration, that's a good idea. I went with a very beefy metal stand, which i will show in the next lathe video. Thanks for the comment i really appreciate it.
