Perhaps I missed it, but this bipod can be had with a panner. It looks like you opted for the non-pan version. It can also be had with a stud adapter for traditional hunting rifles (not a clumsy stud-to-pic rail thing, but somewhat like like the Harris solution). Its direct competitor is the Atlas PSR, really. Also, they sell a little gizmo to really crank the cant (not the pod lok) that looks like one could crank on it more than the PL. They should’ve just made the knob the shape of the gizmo and had been done with it, really. Downside or weird: I did find out the optional carbon fiber legs are just CF sleeves over aluminum, so that is not great. Personally, if you don’t want pan, LRA bipods rock and some models have a low saddle that puts the triangle apex above the barrel, which is the most stable spot. Their CF legs are carbon throughout. Made in USA. Tier One makes a similar model (nice roller bearings) but it ONLY works if you extend it past the rifle stock. Too narrow to fit under the stock (narrow saddle). Not a problem with the LRA.

Nice video Joel. I’ think I’d be hard pressed to take that over an atlas bipod, which is just as quiet if not more so.

@@PrecisionRifleNetwork I hear you, but the Tier One is a direct competitor of a Atlas if you look at it Id say, I wouldnt even compare it too a Harris which imho is a good "i need a decent bipod for $125-" bipod..Either way good review as usual thanks for the work🤙

You won’t catch me spending that kind of money on a bipod. It’s not rocket science. There is no reason they should cost that much other than someone will pay the price. The margins on bipods must be insane.

Ditto. I don't want the Chinese getting good at building scopes and guns, but bipods aren't something that's going to tip the balance of power.

Why is every new bipod that's come out in the past 5 years retailing at $300+? There's no revolutionary design principles being introduced that weren't already pioneered in another industry, their not made from the super expensive or hard to work with materials, and most of the designs in question are noisy (at least the tier one seems to mitigate this). What gives? Edit: changed $400 to $300 to more be accurate
@PrecisionRifleNetwork2 жыл бұрын
Here's my opinion - In previous decades the Harris bipods were the top of the line, ($100 ish) assuming we're NOT talking about F-Class competitions. There was never anything very special about Harris. They did the job and were durable for the most part. The designs of the current class of bipods such as this Tier One or units from Atlas or AccuTac have come a long long ways with some serious improvements over the Harris. Quiet, durable, adjustability, stability, attachment options, are just the things off the top of my head. A quality high end bipod can absolutely make your weapon system more accurate, assuming the shooter has good fundamentals. I agree with you that the costs have gone up, but after comparing a ton of different options on the market, I will happily pay $300+ for an Atlas Cal bipod.
@jgrif78912 жыл бұрын
@@PrecisionRifleNetwork I don't really think any of the designs you mentioned are particularly cutting edge. Atlas is just a quick disconnect mechanism that you see in air hoses, AccuTacs are VERY noisy unless you baby the mechanism, and the Tier One has... spring loaded legs? The only new design that kind of impressed me has been the Ckye Bipods, but they're just stupid when it comes to prices. I doubt I'm going to be changing anyone's opinion anytime soon, but I just want be people to be more discerning when it comes to their purchasing power.
@PrecisionRifleNetwork2 жыл бұрын
@@jgrif7891 I definitely won't argue about the crazy price on the Ckye Pods. Sheesh. That being said, even with all the features, those things get loosy-goosy awful quick, and there have been a lot of breakages on them.

It's how much you are willing to pay, not where it is made or coming from. Your phone, computers and tons of high tech stuff are made in China now. Even just for assembling, that means their labour force have the skillset to do precise job than those who only talk but can not do. It's a dum accusation to use the Tier One product price to judge the one you only spend less than $50.
@PrecisionRifleNetwork3 жыл бұрын
So are you saying the $50 bipod is just as good?

@@PrecisionRifleNetwork No, I am saying, comparing AI with TRG or similar. Not something way cheaper, not even in a closed price range.
