I love predator tech. It always looks so weathered and grimy, but there are always certain parts, the wist blades, the tools inside the medkit, things that look shiny and new. It helps show that this thing isn't just a monster slaughtering his way through a city. He's a consummate professional with gear that is well used and well kept.
@ArjunLoveableChannel2 жыл бұрын
Exactly lol, Man of culture
@Slemoster2 жыл бұрын
It also suggests that the tech is maybe not their own. At least portions of it, anyway. For a race of creatures with such advanced technology, they seem to enjoy the more primal side of life. It was always my theory that ancient Predators were savages but they got a technological boom from another advanced species who maybe left behind their tech or perhaps were defeated in combat and their tech was seized. Something. The Predator culture is quite contradictory to their advancement and so that is my normally my head canon as to why. So maybe they do know how to replicate the tech now but not enough time has passed for them to shed their primitive hunting culture.
@brandongranger64362 жыл бұрын
@@Slemoster You’re exactly right about that! A race of Aliens called the Amengi were slaves to the Predators and created tech for them!

@@Slemoster the yautja go through apocalyptic events every now and then. They have this racial traits, were if one of them uses a madness/rage roar it makes everyone in a radius insane and also repeat it, ad infinitum. It makes the whole race kill itself. It's happened a few times, and it's why alot of them travel solo, less likely the whole race will succumb if they break off into tribes across space. Anyways, precursor predators seemed to be more cultured and science oriented in terms of "the hunt" the current species knows and uses the tech, but hasn't advanced it. Meanwhile certain tribes are bioengineering masters (which is against the religion and culture) these tribes end up being the cause of the movie [the predator 2018] and then the super predators in [predators 2010]
@jaimegutier273 Жыл бұрын
@@Slemoster Its all about the thrill of the hunt. I bet they developed enough technology to blow up the earth ten times over, but what would be the fun of that? Better to stick with simple technology and outsmart the prey while also giving them a chance to strike back. Just like hunters do today. The predator was certainly enjoying chasing Harrigan and considered him the ultimate trophy in his safari expedition.

Granted the 4th Predator movie was complete trash there were a few funny moments in it. My personal favorite funny scene was when the Fugitive Predator was running to escape the dam lab and the crew shoot at him and after the second shot he quickly turns around and fires his blades into the van's tire and the girl with the tranq rifle loses her balance and shot she ends up shooting herself in the foot and passes out in minutes. That scene was so funny as it reminded me of the dinosaur tranq rifle from The Lost World Jurassic Park where the field tech Eddie gives Ian the rundown on the tranq rifle and how it's compound works and says/warns that it's an instant death sentence if the operator were to shoot themselves in the foot by accident Ian: Is there an antidote? Eddie: What do you mean, like shooting yourself in the foot? Don't do that, you'll be dead before you even realized you had an accident.

It's fiction. It doesn't have to make sense and over-explaining it ruins the mystery. However, if we want to, we can say it's stolen technology or hand-me-down. Realistically, Alien (Xenomorph) can't exist. Their entire life cycle depends on a host organism... hence it being retconned they were artificially created by... artificial intelligence. You're right. With the Predators hands and long nails, they probably would be able make such honed tech. So someone or something else does it for them.
