As with other members of the Yautja race including Jungle Hunter, the City Hunter was nurtured into ruthless headhunters who hunt challenging prey for sport and followed his kind's strict codes. City Hunter also utilized similar methods with Jungle Hunter's in attacking armed humans he found during the heat of turf wars as well and share the same standards with the latter do. While City Hunter had more types of equipment than Jungle Hunter at his disposal, he was not as experienced as Jungle Hunter did because the latter spent a long time on the field than him. His approach in hunting worthy prey in Los Angeles was a bit reckless since he too excited upon discovering Harrigan's worth as his challenging prey that he overestimated how powerful his opponent can be that resulting his grave disadvantages in their final fight. In spite of his recklessness as the fight at the subway also resulting some of the civilians got killed due to caught in the crossfire, City Hunter diligently follow his kind's code. He only attacked armed humans to test their worthiness and spare children and pregnant women he encountered. Upon discovered that Leona who fought him pregnant, the predator was horrified and choose to spare her. When encountered a child who carries a gun when stalking Harrigan, City Hunter was shown cautious that he pointed his plasma caster on the boy, but eventually spared him after vision mode on his bio-mask confirmed that the gun was a toy. City Hunter still uphold his honor in his battle against Harrigan, as in spite of him shown retreating after gunned down by the hero and lose his mask, it was only to reorganize his plan to deal him upon discovered how tough he can be and running away like a coward is never an option nor something taught by his kind. His determination to uphold his honor culminated to the point of him willing to choose either self-destructing with his opponents or confront his opponent in mortal combat (though he only able to choose the latter as Harrigan cut his wrist gauntlet off) that made him still considered as honored Yautja by his clan leader.

The Predator's default vision is a slightly discolored / differently colored thermal vision. In the original film, the Predator takes off his mask in his fight against Dutch. It's still thermal vision, albeit distorted.

This was definitely one of the toughest and coolest Predators b/c he took all those slugs to the chest, then kinda one-upped Danny Glover by finishing his sentence with the M word. The Predator's tired eyes when he said that make it look like he doesn't give a shit that he was heavily wounded, he's plans to get up and keep taking heads til someone worthy kills him. One thing that seems to get overlooked a little in films is the fact that Predators are likely cold blooded animals. They are reptiles judging by the scales. Yet the green blood indicates they are more likely arthropods or molluscs as green blood is an indicator of hemocyanin, a copper-based variant for transporting oxygen in blood (Much like the mammalian equivilant of hemoglobin). Either way, the predator should not be able to maintain body temperature in colder environments.

Love, love, love this movie. A worthy sequel to the classic ‘87 masterpiece. This scene always bothered me though. When ol’Gary is cut in half the lower half of his body drops naturally. The upper half appears to hang in the air letting the blood spill out. The hang time is significant too. His legs are flat on the ground and his upper torso remains suspended in mid air bleeding on his fallen legs. Looks so bizarre.

I may sound twisted when I say this, but that smart disc kill is probably my favorite execution scene ever by the Predator. The way that the disc effortlessly cuts through the meat to ultimately chop his body in half was beautiful to watch. This shows me just how advanced and far ahead of its time the Yautja weaponry truly is.

It's said there's an unreleased version of this film that was rated NC-17 for gore. Bearing that in mind, if you watch closely you can see the camera shot cut when the disc hits Keyes--almost as if something was edited out right there. I wonder if there was originally another angle to that shot that was far more graphic. Hopefully we see it some day!

One rumor is that he was still alive after being cut in half and said something to Glover's character. Apparently bothered test audiences or MPAA enough to be removed. We will probably never see it.

Just rewatched the entiore franchise and realized that even this movie showed the truth of the line in Predators about the Yautja always learning. Dutch beat the first Pred with camouflage that masked his heat signature. Predators obviously had the one Bad Blood with the heart beat sensor overlay while City Hunter had a multi-vision mode adaptation where he just had to cycle the view types to see.

There's an error in this scene, they forgot that the suit worn by Keys was supposed to be infrared proof so the predator should have just be seen Key's head

Not just that, but the Predator’s vision should be seeing a lot of red just like the first one after he had his helmet removed, but here it’s all blue just like it would be if he still had it on.

After I slowed it down and looked at it you can see keys head pretty clearly but his body not so much, also remember they sprayed the warehouse with some kind of particles/filter that was supposed to stick to the predator so they would be able to see him better, maybe those same particles had a different effect with predators normal vision being stuck to keys suit and allowed him to see keys full body .... Also I think a lot of the predator vision depends on how hot the environment is.. the jungle was hot, the meat warehouse was cold... But it could be an inconsistency though...but we are talking about an alien that we don't know much about just like they thought he could only see in one spectrum of light...lol Great movie tho😁

I found an error here. How is the City Predator able to see him in thermal-vision without his mask on? Yautja don't naturally perceive things in infrared. Perhaps I am thinking too much about this?
