Do some light porting on the intake and exhaust on your head. Just remove the shelf angle and smooth it out. Also there are 1.2 stamped ratio rockers sold by Vegas carts they are pretty cheap and reliable.

I was topping 30 at first with a 40 series torque converter a friend told me with to a clutch & it’s topping 65 with no problem

Yeah I’m running a traditional clutch now but gearing really limits it. I’ve got a 40 series I’m going to try out soon. I usually enjoy crazy acceleration a little more than top speed.

Hi. Do you still happen to have the stock exhaust? Can I have the manifold tube lol. I bought the Predator 459 yesterday for 200 bucks new. Had a cracked exhaust manifold. Cant seem to find find one and its not a part HF has. Let me know can pay for shipping and cost if reasonable. Thanks!

youll likely drop a second in total times with with a Torque convertor. Seems you weak link is the centrifcal clutch.

Yeah I’ve had one for it for over a year just sitting in the house. Just started really enjoying the midrange and top end power so I’ve been hesitant to change it.

does it start better now with the larger jet? Mine as stock seems to need choke with every start.

No it does take quite a few pulls even when it was new and stock it took quite a few pulls to get going.

I sanded it down last week and cleared it with ceramic header paint. I normally do that with all my exhausts but wanted to see if this one was going to rust first. I’ve had a few headers that have never rusted but they’ve got to be stainless or something.

I heavier flywheel would require more power to spin so the engine may feel a bit sluggish and slower to increase speed but it would be harder to stop so it would maintain rpm for longer and be more resistant to stalling under high loads. There are pros and cons it just depends what it’s being used for.

It’s very limited by gearing. It has a large engine sprocket and a relatively small axle sprocket which is better for speed rather than acceleration but it’s still governed so it doesn’t have the rpm to take advantage of the gearing. The acceleration is crazy considering the gearing though. Once I get rid of the governor I’d expect it will make it past 50mph.

The governor is really what’s holding it back. It’s already hitting the governor at the 3-4 second mark. I’ve have plans to take it out soon.

Yeah this one is still governed and it’s limited significantly by gearing. Most engines would struggle with the gearing it has at the moment.
