And my friend just went with the 13,000 Predator just to be safe yet you just proved a typical house can easily run on a lot less, a lot quieter and more efficiently. Sure he can run tri-fuel and can pull 240v but he's not gonna use anywhere near the 10k wattage unless he plans on letting his neighbors hook in.

Hey, great vids, subbed! I'm considering having a 50a inlet installed, for "futureproofing" if I decide to get another generator at another time. Also planning on having an interlock kit installed inside. What would be the best way to connect the Predator 5000 to a 50a inlet/interlock kit? Cheers!
@Outdoor_Prepper2 ай бұрын
Sounds great! You can still connect this to a 50amp inlet. You would just need some different adapter cables in addition to your 50amp generator cable. It all depends on what cable you buy but generally speaking you would use something like this ( below ) to connect to the generator and then you would connect your 50amp cable to this adapter on one end and the inlet box on the other end. Hope this helps somewhat and thanks for watching! www.amazon.com/Kohree-Adapter-Dogbone-Electrical-Handle/dp/B07G58NSDK/ref=asc_df_B07G58NSDK/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=693678122855&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=15629250088714450407&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9004211&hvtargid=pla-594148215114&psc=1&mcid=eb26ff15f3c438edb6c8f24186f0f9cf

My wife and I are looking to buy this unit. Our question with everything you had running what was the total time that the tank was able to run the generator?
@Outdoor_Prepper3 ай бұрын
I did a runtime test where I put a 1500 W load on using propane and I got a full 12 hours. Based on the testing that I did with the house my continuous load was about 750 W, but when I factored in the heat. It went up to about 2300. All things considered the heat won’t be running the whole time so I’m still gonna stick with my estimate of approximately 10 to 12 hours run time on a bbq size tank of propane. With gasoline you should probably get about four hours more. Thanks for watching!

Any ideas on how many continuing hours you can safely run a 5000? In other words if you were to use one as permanent power?
@Outdoor_Prepper3 ай бұрын
I saw a video of someone who had 3000 hours on theirs. I think the most important part is to change the oil frequently. My personal opinion is do every 50 hours and you’ll have a long lifespan. You can get a fluid extractor to suck the oil out and then put fresh oil in. An oil change could literally take less than 5 minutes. Also get an NGK spark plug and very lightly oil the air filter

Nice video. How long will that 20lb tank run your house? Any thoughts about buying a 100lb tank? Natural gas conversion would make the most sense to me.
@Outdoor_Prepper3 ай бұрын
I actually am interested in one of the aftermarket natural gas conversion kits as that’s an unlimited fuel supply! I did a video testing on propane with 1500 watt sustained load and got 12 hours - check it out below. Based on the actual 750 watts sustained as tested with short surges to 2300 with the furnace on I think all and all I should still get about 10- 12 hours on propane. Thanks for watching! @@Outdoor_Prepper I’m a first time watcher of your channel. I watched the suggested video and I had no idea that a 20lb propane tank would run that long. This isn't accurate. Just because the circuits are on doesn't mean the gen will run everything. The real test is to turn on everything you switched the breakers on for, including all lights, the dishwasher, etc. This is misleading.
