Thank you for sharing this. I had the same experience but it wasn’t sexual. It was more emotional abuse. The control and manipulation was there. We had a mother in the church too. When I look back, they approached me when I was most vulnerable. I was attending Mustard Seed a branch of first love. There was a lot of spiritual bypassing and over-religious practice. It was so difficult to escape because they would use scripture to make it sound like I was disobeying God by abandoning fellowship. So I thought I was going against God even though I felt manipulated and gaslighted. Thank God I’m discovering who God truly is and going to a less legalistic church.

This was extremely brave of you and never allow anyone to dim your light . There are members suffering in silence and I pray this will encourage them to speak in their truth. Many churches have safeguarding concerns and do not have the correct resources and wisdom to handle these cases. The more people that speak out, churches will have no choice but to ensure these measures are put into place. Where leaders are not being held accountable for their actions this portrays to other leaders they can get away with it. It’s funny how they are chastised for not having enough souls yet sexual abuse there is nothing. The bible tells us to live by the law of the land, sexual abuse is a criminal offence but leaders are more concerned with how the church will be portrayed. As a matter of fact, a church that speaks up against injustice and abuse would have a positive impact to the body of Christ. We should not shelter or enable abusers in the name of Jesus. Rather, we reject their fruitless deeds of darkness and expose them to the light. I pray you are never silenced and you continue to be a voice for those who can not speak. Im so surprised there isn't more videos on this. A married Deacon became over involved w me. Trying to take all my free time to talk to him, controlling, pressuring, wanted all my time and attention. Then came the inappropriate comments, comments there is no way he would say in front of his Wife, constant texts, phone calls, invitating and pressuring me to do stuff w him, spend time w him, it was like he was getting obsessive. He looks creepy on the outside and inside. It was intrusive. It got to the point where he would keep trying to wear me down until I would do exactly what he wanted. I told him off today and told me to never contact me again. This has to happen more than the videos Im seeing. My gut kept telling me something was off and weird and I ignored it. I wanted to believe he was a good person. He was overbearing. He wouldn't take no for an answer. I felt like he got off on hearing me say prayers w him, asked me to sing hymns to him on the phone. 🤮🤢

My friends told me a story about a pastor we grew up with who baptized me and other kids and one day my friend said her friend was at a brewery when a pastor she known since she was a child was hitting on her and her friends and he did it in a way that made these women feel uncomfortable he didn’t touch them in areas that were scandalous but it was how he looked at these women that made them uncomfortable . I thought it was a rumor I hadn’t Been to a church in a while so I was out of the loop but other ladies we’re drinking at a bar and they told me a similar story of a pastor hitting on them and making them feel uncomfortable it was such a sad thing that a respected pastor could be capable of making women feel uncomfortable. It made my heart feel sad that someone you know since childhood might be capable of doing bad things. All I hope is what ever truth maybe with pastor s it will shine the light on what is going on find out the truth about the accusations against a pastor let’s cell him s. Eventually the truth will always come out eventually

The Pastor is not the head of your life, but only God. The Pastor is only the steward of leading man towards worship of God. When you're in the Church, build your spiritual strength first before taking on Church responsibilities. Secondly, if the Pastor is a male person, any female performing roles in the church must keep their distances from the pastor, it happens with almost many pastors and this evil will never go away as long as Satan still exist. Satan is there to pull down those who worship God. So, this sin must be contained by both parties by observing the limitations. Another way to avoid such for the females is not to expose talents too quickly. However, if given a responsibility, it is better to address the safety and protection of your life in prayer when performing the duties of the role given. Pray and Fast, and speak to God about your problems. Also, this is the area in the Church Satan always capitalizes and pulled down man and woman of God since the era of church begun. Therefore it requires collective effort to restructure the churches so that decision making is not only left to a pastor but collective body. The power of church administration must be left to a body of management and not singlehandedly left to the pastor. The pastor should be employed only to the church to preach and perform spiritual duties, and not to make decisions for the church.

Hey hun, yes 100%! There’s something called repressed memories which is common with childhood trauma. When the trauma is too overwhelming to deal with, it’s almost like an involuntary defence mechanism to block it out and completely forget. I started remembering while I was a teenager- very clear and vivid flashbacks. Then other traumatic experiences along the way triggered the memories very strongly. And finally I had it confirmed to me that it actually happened which was hard to deal with, but I knew God wanted me to know for sure and actually confront it and deal with it. Hope that helps!

Wow I am sorry this happened but I also don’t think it’s right to upload such videos when you’re the only one who can say their side! It should have been dealt with privately, I don’t know everything about your experience but the church has been a blessing to me and many others, and I would never blame a whole church for something, the church is like a hospital with many imperfect people, not excusing anyone or anything but it’s not about the people it’s about where God has placed you and your relationship with him. But even more so, if we were to talk about people there It would even be wrong of me to watch a video knowing my own experience with FLC has been nothing but a blessing, God has used people to save my life and I generally don’t know where I would be without some of the people there, the Shepards have invested into me more than anyone I’ve known before Christ and has restored my relationship with my parents, for that I will forever be grateful! And even if it achieves anything at all have you weighed up whether it is worth it? The church is christs body you have to be very careful with how you deal with it, you are dealing with Christ himself and remember God sees everything, leave it God to deal with his servants, Even if it wasn’t your intention to throw men of God / woman of God under the bus, that is what is happening here and that’s what a lot of people are taking from the video, to not trust the church, pastors etc people may turn away from Christ because of what they’ve heard, people may never trust the church again If you’re still a Christian which I’d hope, I hope that you can see the bigger picture here. It’s dangerous & people are being contaminated by leaders who are living in impurity. God uses prophetic voices to call it out and call people to repentance, and it’s clear that those who are comfortable in their sin & carnality are always agitated by such messages.
