Predatory journals: Can elite, high impact factor journals be predatory?

You probably know that you should avoid publishing your scientific research article in a predatory journal. Is it possible that elite, high journal impact factor open access journals are predatory journals? We look at the evidence as to whether article processing charges for these scientific journals are too high, and if the publishers are acting in an exploitive, predatory manner.
