This building stood abandoned for 500 years and was still standing due to good construction. He just moved into the empty building and people build a city around it because of its great location.

Reminder that Krile and the WoL have different Echo Abilities! Krile senses emotions and intentions, mentioned back in Heavensward or Stormblood. WoL has the ability to see a snippet of the past.

I'm pretty sure seeing snippets of the past is common for everyone with the Echo(Fordola with Krile's Echo and the WoD all manage to look at the WoL's), and that it's more so understanding all languages that is unique to the WoL. Maybe it's just me though, considering Mikoto has foresight rather than that.

Fordola is different ... her echo is artificial based on Kriles ... she is reading vibrations of our souls to predict our movements ... WoD as a shard of WoL has the same echo type Flashback Ysele had the same You can share echo gift like we do with Mikoto in Bozja ... but we cant see the future like she can ... the common thing of the echo is translation ...

Krile can have those regular Echo visions like ours though, I'm pretty sure. All Echo users have this ability. But each individual Echo can have additional capabilities, and that's one of Krile's. Ours is unknown, but people have headcanoned that it's our in-game ability to learn/master new jobs effortlessly.

With regard to Zoraal Ja not invading Garlemald because it's too cold. They did mention before marching on Garlemald at the beginning of Endwalker that some of the tribe races weren't suited for cold weather and thus couldn't join us. They didn't specify the Mamool Ja but it was confirmed that some people are overly sensitive to extreme environments.

Plus he wanted to invade Eorzea later? Like how? He has got to be the single worst villain in the game no cap.

Its almost never used ... but there are different kinds of echos ... The one Aura girl that takes part in Bozja has foresight ... Kryle can catch glimpses into a persons souls .. ie tier thought desires and feelings We have the Memory flashback similar to Ysele form Elidibus in the SHB patch content we learn that it really is just an echo ... a mere fragment of the abilities the Ancients had ... implying that all Ancients had all the abilities ... but to varying degrees as we learn in EW ... after the sundering only those that were strong in one aspect or another retained that aspect in their souls as they reincarnated ... Its nice they remembered that ... I agree I think this is Stormblood 2.0

Really looking forward to the type of story break down you guys do, having played the expansion in full I think the reasons it's polarising are very clear and fascinating (on the whole I liked it but there was one point where I had to stop playing and get some time away from the story because it did not land right for me). Turns out it's hard to write a new expansion after the major arc of a long running game has concluded. Wall of dungeons is going to be even tougher than that though, because If I kept a personal wall of every dungeon in the game, every old dungeon might get shuffled down a tier to make room at the top.

I’ve definitely got the half/half opinion which is to say barring some minor narrative quibbles I loved the first half of the MSQ with the Dawn Servant Selection, it’s all within that second half where I start to scratch my head the most and after mulling on it for a while I honestly think it comes down to the simple problem of feeling like they speed ran us through the zones in the second half of the story, not allowing us to slow down and feel invested in the world or characters at play It lacked an Ascian DMV moment as the GG boys have effectively coined

Having just finished Dawntrail last night, the comparison to Frieren, at least for Dawntrail's first half, is rather fitting I'd say. Also as usual, it's always entertaining to see what Kyle and Garrett predict accurately (sometimes uncannily so) and what they are completely off with, sometimes simultaneously. Dawntrail being a more focused Stormblood is another apt comparison, as for now now I’d say I liked Dawntrail more than base Stormblood/4.0 and it’s almost tied with/just below base Heavensward/3.0 (while ShB & EW are still my top favorites, with EW slightly edging out ShB).

Mixed reception is an understatement. I haven't seen such a divide surrounding the MSQ since stormblood but it feels worse (stormblood 2.0 if you will). Gameplay feels nice but I'm interested how it'll be perceived after the honeymoon phase.

I guess people now just expect dragon ball z levels of upping the stakes with every expansion (this guy is strongest in the world, this guy is strongest in the galaxy, this guy is strongest in the universe, etc) until it's all just gibberish where you fight for the fate of multiverses. Resetting the game back to a normal adventure with lower stakes as a basis for a new journey was the correct choice. The puzzling part is that the devs told everyone over the course of 2 years what they were gonna do and someone the playerbase was blindsided.

@crimsonpotemkin I think it's more so the execution that went wrong. If you look back at the overall plot it sounds appealing and enjoyable. I think many would be interested to see it unfold. The execution, getting to go through the plot or story (going from sky view to ground view) it could have been done so much better. There are characters that I want to feel for but simply can't. ☹️ It's not exclusive to just lamat.

There isn't much at stake for the WoL to be in Tural in the first 5 quests. If the WoL stayed home, not much changes. Wuk has Scions to help out with combat and quests, and Wuk seems strong enough on their own. The WoL isn't necessary. The Rite of Succession is essentially a elaborate side quest in the WoL's life at this point. The first solo instance does more to give the WoL more direct reasons to be there, it just takes a while to get there.

In true tradition the guys are both incredibly right and wildly wrong at the same time. It should be fun. The only thing I'd note is that "Promise" is basically being used as a replacement for Prince & Princess. My only real issue with DT has been the naming of everything being slightly more obscure than it needs to be. I know it's subjective and probably regional but it been hard for me to remember the names of anything this expansion.

“Differently” might be misleading because she still has all the bells and whistles that come with the Echo (and by extension, the blessing of light): she gets past-walking visions, understands foreign languages, immunity to primal corruption and so on. Krile basically has an extra feature in which she is “more attuned to the whispers of the soul.” This seems to translate into practice as an empathic ability to more acutely feel the inner emotions of others - making her basically Counselor Troi.
