The last edition came with a bunch of new models that weren't in the launch box, like the mario cart, chaplain on bike, necron terrain, silent king etc. So they might still have enough stuff to tide us over.

Oh I definitely hope and expect there will be more for nids than just what's in the starter, and I'm expecting those to come in later waves 3-6 months after the starter release. What I'm worried about here is them being miserly and trying to stretch JUST the contents of the starter until June 24, not even dipping into subsequent waves.

GW are already promising the biggest range refresh/update that Tyranids have ever seen, so yeah, there's definitely more stuff coming. Who knows when they're going to start talking about the rest though.

@@ArynCrinn yeah it's more to do with the starter box though because they are supposed to to be revealing the contents in just a couple of weeks. On a lighter note I feel like refreshing 4 units would technically be the biggest refresh in Tyranid history.

With them running low on new rules to show off i would expect them to show the remaining things in the box minus the largest ones (my guess is the big brain bug though there have been rumors that there are models in the box not show via the trailer) and then show off the new miniatures that aren't coming in the box with the lead up too 10th's release day.

I would love this! It would definitely break the pattern set so far if they just started daily drops of models from the starter between now and Warhammer Fest, but I would be thrilled to be wrong about that one!

Nick I think they will show the contents of the box at Warhammer fest. They’ll be releasing Codex:Astartes and Codex:Tyranids along with the game at launch like they did with space marines and necrons last time. I’d expect that they will preview new units for them that are separate from the box.

Actually, for Indomitus, the box came out in July, and the Marine and Necron codexes dropped in September or October. And since GW has said that datacards for all units will be available online and to purchase at launch of the box, I don't think they'll be in a rush to release the codexes right at launch.

Yeah, the whole release of Launch box, starter sets, and Nid + Marine Codexes + range updates will be a 3 month+ affair. Hopefully it's not as drawn out as it was for 9th edition, which saw the last of the Marines and Necrons released 8-9 months after Indomitus. At least there's no unexpected pandemic to interrupt the release schedule this time.

This is how I took it: you'll be playing demo games with the new rules, and I assumed with the new models. But then I wondered if they'd have new rules but just a bunch of generic models that aren't necessarily from the box.

I have given up trying to understand the new rules until everything is out, marine models have just gone insane over the last while, so I am really just looking forward to new Nids.

The Nids r evolving backward? I like how alien the new Nids look in 10th, but by making them look like the old models mean the Nids r "evolving backward", which evolution generally doesn't do. I have my opinion explaining away why they look so much like their old selves, but what is ur opinion?

This is an interesting question! Personally, I love it, so it's easy for me to dismiss the important distinction you're making: that going back to old stuff runs counter to evolution. But if I had to explain it, I'd go with either: A) This is actually an older splinter fleet since the Imperium has never faced Nids on the western fringe of the galaxy before. They're not the same fleets attacking in the east, and they still have older bioforms. B) The older genetic markers for things like Screamer Killers and 2nd Edition Lictors has always remained in the Hive mind's stores, and it's recombining older strains with newer upgrades to try something new?
