Returnal & Destruction Allstars are owned by Playstation (SIE). Returnal IP was owned by Playstation prior to the Acquisition (along with other IPs made by Housemarque but owned by PS like Resogun, Matterfall, Alienation, Dead Nation, Super Stardust HD etc). At the time they weren't 1st party studios made. But were still 1st party owned IP. Death Stranding IP is owned by PS. Helldivers, Firewall (VR) all own SIE owned. There's many.

I wanted to talk about the Ghost of Tsushima sequel for a second. Before that, I do think the first game will be one of the next game’s released for PC. About the sequels setting, and title. The first game has hints of some characters going to Kyoto, so it could be Ghost of Kyoto. I’m curious if Sucker Punch (and PlayStation overall) is looking at the series more as a franchise. If that’s the case, I think a trilogy for Jin is possible. Another location could be Edo. Just throwing it out there that I also believe SP will support multiplayer games, and we could see another full MP Ghost game at some point.

2023 seems like a large focus on third party exclusives with Spidey being their heavy hitter from a first part and I'm cool with that. I dont really need answers to any of the questions Bless brought up. I don't need to hear about any of these studios until they are ready to show us something. But I could just be cynical because I dont care about any of the live service games.

I think the sexiest thing PlayStation could do is release a ps vita 2 announcing theyre re entering handheld making as well as taking a note from switch and it having it as a lower priced ps5 performance mode settings with a dock like switch compatible with ps5 controllers. As well as announcing steam integration for account access to a even bigger library both on vita and psn as a whole going forward with more pc games.

Not feasible for a handheld to run ps5 games, they arent made with that hardware in mind and developers arent going to go back and downgrade existing ps5 games to run on it. Devs also hate the series S already and its more capable than any handheld would be.

Sony said they have 2 "Games as a Service" (GaaS) games coming by March 2023. They haven't released any since they made that statement. So if there hasn't been delays. That means those 2 games are coming at the top of the year. Twisted Metal & TLOU TV series are airing in 2023. I think that *Twisted Metal game* is finally announced and released. I think *TLOU MP (factions)* may be shown off and "maybe" released 2023. Those 2 could be the GaaS Games (though TLOU may be later in June like mentioned here on the podcast). *MLB 23* is obviously coming. *Spidey 2* in fall 2023 (probably Sept/Oct). & I think we'll see *Helldivers 2* which is supposed to have gotten the "Returnal" treatment (given AAA Budget). But the leaked trailer clip makes me feel like it's ready to be shown & released. & Helldivers could be one of the 2 GaaS games by March. I think *Helldivers 2 & Twisted Metal* could be those 2 early 2023 GaaS. The thing with PS VR2 is, it has hiccups already. The biggest one being it’s not backwards compatible. I understand why, but that hurts a consumer. Hey you bought is old headset and our games buy a new headset. None of your games work with it. Then the other issue is what games are exclusive to this new VR headset. What games can I play here that I cannot play anywhere else on any other VR headset. Uh oh that’s the other rub so many of those games that Tony mentioned you can play elsewhere not only can you play them elsewhere. Those headsets are backwards, compatible and have a significantly lower cost to own in the PS VR2 headset. Ultimately they have to sell this item. I don’t see how you sell it when it cost so much to own it and it doesn’t have truly truly numerous exclusive titles to it. Come buy something that’s very expensive. Looks really good but limits what you can play on it.

I loved the original VR and I want to want it, but there's nothing but a shorter, cheaper Horizon experience, and a bunch of ports and rereleases, with nothing else on the horizon to look forward to. I'm too familiar with Sony's strategy of not supporting their hardware past a year (RIP Vita) to have any confidence that VR2 isn't just being sent out to die.

Horizon VR is a made for VR amazing full game. Longer game is not always a better game. Calling Re8 a bunch of port is not fair. Re8 village is a fully realized VR game which per people who experienced it is an amazing experience. You also have Firewall Ultra, Crossfire Game, Dark Pictures Switchback, walking dead chapter2, these are some amazing high end VR full games that will be best experienced with the psvr2 feature set. Atleast try it before dismissing it

It would be awesome if Spiderman 2 was a drop in drop out co-op game. I'd love for the next big trailer to have spiderman fighting and all of a sudden the main ps5 login comes up with the "add guest" option and someone literally just drops into the fight and they both go on fighting.

Gary is always WFH, Parris too, Blessing is always doing it, and has Janet even been there since the launch? I don't wanna see zoom calls on screens. @@mrpopo5097 every single full time member of the crew all live in SF. Even Parris (I think) and Gary. They had no problem what so ever pre-2020 having in person crew/guests, and if someone wasn't available, they would switch up the schedule and bring someone else in. We don't want video chats with the likes of Blessing, Janet and Gary, heck even Nick has doen it, if they can't make it to the studio. Just rotate a different member of the crew that CAN be there. I'd rather watch Tim and Mike, than Tim and then Blessing on a screen (just an example).

I just want Spider-Man 2, don’t care about much else! Insomniac is easily S tier and they don’t miss. What else does Insomniac have to do to be considered S tier? Makes no sense. Both Ratchet and Clanks were great, both Spider-Man games were incredible. They created the best video game adaption of Spider-Man there has ever been and I don’t think playing as Spider-Man could feel better than it feels now. Yet still not S tier and not a chance Spider-Man 2 could be a masterpiece? Come on y’all 😒 Insomniac deserves more respect than that on a PlayStation podcast. If you follow the psvr2 news, you will see it already has almost 100 games announced for it already and a lot of them are free upgrades for psvr1 owners of those games. All the good ones will be having psvr2 versions such as wanderer, walking dead chapter 1, no mans sky, alvo, moss, etc
