That was really interesting! That last quote from the book reminded me of Charlie chaplains speech from the great dictator

Im so glad i was young in the 80s and 90s. Tesla, Lawn Mower Man, and Queens Radio Ga Ga. All this has gone into hyper drive since 2020. The machine has destroyed community, yet as Orwell states, we are totally dependent on it. I will be on the Golly very soon, i hope to meet you and have a nice physiological chat over a brew made on a fire 😊

Technology is so advanced that I just got notification of your video even though I am already watching it. I saved it to watch later even though I am watching it now .

Dilution of the value of first hand experience. What a current and powerful observation.

I did a really bad job of explaining it in this video but you can see how relevant it seems! I can't recommend it enough, there are audio versions on KZbin as well!

That recycled boat ride was a bit less frosty than your last video! I think writers and artists have a way of imagining how the world can be if it continues going in the same direction. We are living the results of the Industrial Revolution when machines were revolutionizing production. George Eliot bemoaned the way the world was speeding up and there were no more slow days when a peddler came into the village knocking at your door. (Or something to that effect).

That is a great point, the assumption that technology would continue in the same path couple with experience of everyday human nature!

It is 4 39 am and I need to sleep so will ponder on your message later. Now that your video is over does that mean it has been watched even though I saved it to watch later while watching it?

That is a good question and I’m afraid I have no idea!
