Even if they went into points record territory, there's every chance he'd keep the job. Lest we forget Billy Davies partly lost the job at Derby due to a board takeover and having a target on his back for several months prior to his dismissal. Well, thing is about Steve Cooper, he's a bit special and Marinakis knows it. He basically got Forest promoted by himself, and he has proven himself a respected coach at youth levels, which can mean absolutely nothing, but that's what's people said about Pep before becoming a full manager, so yeah that was a good indicator. He'd only be like a C-list Pep of course, but still a Pep nonetheless. Most clubs search for a type of Pep, Forest have one and they know it.

yeah Forest would have been in a relegation scrap in the Championship without him. Kudos to Marinakis for realizing sacking him would be a mistake. I think every team looking to establish themselves in the Premier League need a quality manager, and it's easier if you already have one.

Did Emery really fail at Arsenal though? He took an Arsenal team with poor defensive players to an inch of fourth place, and under him Arsenal reached the Euro Cup final. So yes they fell short, but I wouldn't say it was a massive failure or a stain on Emery's career.

Bringing the daily mourinho news to the Irish guy Roma are having a bad start to the season. That's a fact. 3 games. 1 draw 2 looses. Of course it still very early to judge and there were some reasons that could explain it. One of those games was against the best team in Italy so far AC milan and 2 of those 3 games were without their best player dybala and Jose himself missed 2 games which had an impact so there are excuses . But we also know this is Jose's 3rd season which usually goes bad for him however there are reasons to hope that Roma will turn it around. As a matter of fact Roma absolutely has to turn it around . Here's why GAMES COMING UP Roma might have the easiest few games coming up out of any Italian teams. They have 9 games where even with a average team they should win. 6 in the league against teams like Cagliari. Monza or bottom of the league Empoli which is their next game this weekend at home. They don't have a single hard game until Inter Milan in like a month and a half They Also Have 3 games in the Europa league against Sheriff. Slavia Prague and another very small team. Again roma should absolutely top that group easily. NEW SIGNINGS Roma also made very good signing. Jose complained that they came very late which is true and gives him an Escuse for the bad start so far but Now they are all settled and Lukaku. Peredes. Renato sanches or Aouar will have to now perform at a high level every game and show their value 2 WEEKS Another factor is that When you have bad results it's always hard to improve the team when games are piling up every 3 days. Jose had a 2 weeks break to analyse the situation and anyone doubting the great brain This guy has is delusional. Obviously mourinho is a very intelligent manager. One of the most intelligent ever arguably so someone of his football knowledge should come up with ideas to improve the situation having had 2 weeks to work So because of all that I think Jose did have reasons for his bad start but from now on he absolutely have 0 excuses. Out of those very easy 6 games coming up in the league and 3 in the Europa league he should win at least 5 in the league and all 3 in the Europa league which would make roma top 4 by the time they face inter and top of their group phase in the Europa league If by the time they play inter they still are struggling then Serious questions will have to be asked to Mourinho. With a trophy and a Europa league final his tenure at roma will be respected no matter what but a bad phase now will confirm his struggle at the high level in the long run nowadays On the other hand if he does turn it around there still is a possibility for a great season with that squad which would confirm his incredible longevity And the difference with spurs and united is that this time the fans and most of the squad absolutely love him so It's totally up to him

as a spurs fan, i can tell you i want postecoglou to be the tottenham version of sir alex ferguson. to come into a club that just lost his best ever player and transform it to getting on top of the premier league 10 games in, i genuinly believe hes gonna lead spurs to a league title one day. the players love him and gave personality to tottenham. he gave some much needed stability, he made the right signings, bringing van de ven and maddison, and for now, i dont see a reason for him to be sacked in the next two years at least.

Cooper won't be sacked this season. The team is fundamentally better than this time last year, and the relegation candidates are also weaker. Cooper is hero worshipped in Nottingham and Marinakis knows he'd be sacrificing a lot of good will, just to go out and get someone who probably wouldn't do any better.
