I think if Stafford retires, Darnold makes the most sense to replace him. If not, Sam could stay in MN on a discount, knowing he has a stacked roster, chemistry with the team, the support of KOC, the fan base, etc. I think if he wants to stay, they'll find a way to make it happen. There's no guarantee that JJs knee won't be an ongoing issue.

And nobody foresaw Darnold playing like this. Nobody foresaw an 11-2 team at this point. And nobody is predicting a deep playoff run. I'd say that right now......yes, they are still barely holding onto their plans.......but if Darnold finished strong and plays well in the playoffs......they will have a serious discussion about changing plans.

The Vikings can tag Sam if they so choose and Sam doesn't even get to the market. That is one year. JJ McCarthy is 21 years old and rehabbing his knee this season. He will be 22 in January and the Vikings will still have 3 seasons including his 5th year option to see what he brings to the table (plenty of time). The Vikings have over 76M is cap space. The Vikings can afford a 42M or so tag on Sammy and bring in additional assets to help the team. This is too easy. By the time the Vikings unleash McCarthy he will have a PhD. in the KOC Offense. The only thing that I can imagine changes this idea is if Sam delivers a Lombardi and the Vikings consider marrying Sam instead of just prolonging the beautiful date they are on.

Mackey shouldn't have gotten the TD. This is a football show so obviously we're talking about a "week" in NFL context. In the NFL, a week isn't simply 7 days, it is the period leading up to your next game. Otherwise we would say a team played 2 week 12 games if they played Sunday & Thursday (as an example.), which we do not.

Since Mackey got the TD I think Dex shouldn’t get the completion for INT prediction. Sam didn’t throw one, therefore on a technicality only half the prediction has happened. Better wording should have been Kirk will be the first QB to throw an INT during the game.

I have a question about Declan’s right prediction. When he says “Kirk will throw one before Sam does” he’s implying that Sam will ALSO throw an interception. Sam didn’t have an interception in the game. I don’t think this is a correct prediction given the language.
