Hi Jasmine! Thank you for your videos! After watching you I generally have a smiley face thinking like "everything's gonna be okay!". I've been on prednisone for 2 years. When I was first diagnosed, the first doctor of mine gave me 60 mg/day and I was so depressed because of the side effects. Then I changed my doctor and he did what yours did; tapered prednisone slowly and increased sandimmun. My life got totally better! Thanks to god I haven't experienced relapse yet. Now I take 2.5 mg prednisone a day and I don't take the other day and I take 100 mg sandimnun. I've lost my moonface lately. Thank you for your smiley face that makes me feel comfortable with the situation I'm in. Best!

Hey. Good to know that you're doing better. Can you please tell me the side effects you faced with Sandimnun? Also, did you get stretch marks with prednisone? Thanks in advance.

Thank you for the videos. My daughter was diagnosed at 2 years of age. My daughter was on a small dose for a long time. She just had a relapse after her vaccines. She is 5 years old now. What works best for her is a low sodium diet.

Hey Jasmine hope all is going ok , just started taking prednisolone today . Just a quick question . How long before it started working for you ? I know it’s different for everyone as my specialist said , but to just give me an idea , being the Michelin man is starting to get a little old 😃

Mark Davies heya Mark! All is well thank you! Yeh don’t worry I get why you’re curious still I was the same! I’d say after around 2-4 weeks. I got put on them in the middle of y a level exams and because I was still really stressed/nervous about exams they didn’t really work. But as soon as my last exam was over I was going to the toilet every 20 seconds I swear! I hope that’s helped you? Just try not to stress out (as hard as it sounds) the more relaxed you are the more your body will accept the pred :)

Man my consultant is a moron he was telling me to go down 10mg (from 60) every 2 weeks and obviously it all came back after I got to 10mg so I shot back up to 60. And he still decides to reduce the dosage interval by 10mg every 4 weeks instead which I didn't think was wise and as i predicted it didn't work out and I was swelling up again by 20mg and now I'm stuck on 30mg and still leaking protein. Also did you ever suffer gastritis from the steroids as well? Because it's really irritating and the stomach/chest pain really does impact your life and force you to eat way too many meals yet my consultant keeps brushing it off or forgetting about it

Keep strong. Autoimunes are a bitch. We have multiple allergies and dermatitis in the house. The allergiest was mentioning cyclo... for our 2 year old. Huh hard decision to take...

It’s bizarre to see that ciclosplorin is used for other things. My doctor prescribed it to me after a bone marrow transplant as it prevents your body from rejecting the donors stem cells. I also noticed you’re on omeprazol. Me too but I’m on it because before I was diagnosed with leukaemia I suffered with bile reflux every single morning and I’m still on it till this day. Although they’re not nice to live this I like to learn about other conditions because sometimes they’re just so relatable. We have to take loads of medications, we get sick of being stabbed all the time and as a woman we hate what it does to our hormones.
