Verbs of motion is one of the most difficult topics in Russian language by itself. But when we add different prefixes it becomes even more complicated. In this video I present to you 12 prefixes that change the meaning of each verb completely.
Time codes:
01:09 - Russian verbs of motion
03:55 - 1. Prefix при- (arrival and delivery)
04:47 - 2. Prefix у- (departure and removal)
05:24 - 3. Prefix в- (во-) (motion into)
05:48 - 4. Prefix вы- (motion out)
06:24 - 5. Prefix под- (approach)
07:11 - 6. Prefix от- (motion away from an object)
07:42 - 7. Prefix вз- (взо-/вс-/в-) (motion up)
08:09 - 8. Prefix с- (motion down)
08:27 - 9. Prefix с- + suffix -сь / -ся (motion from different points to one place)
09:50 - 10. Prefix раз- (разо- / рас-) + suffix -сь / -ся (motion from one place to different points)
10:40 - 11. Prefix по- (brief action)
11:30 - 12. Prefix про- (action that is completed in a defined amount of time)

As a native speaker of Russian, I can't even imagine how difficult it is for foreigners to learn. From this video it is clear that this makes it a little easier, but there are also many exceptions, hundreds. A small life hack for foreigners: If you want to quickly learn Russian (conversational level) so that native Russian speakers understand you, then do not waste time on grammar, they will understand you without problems, learn grammar over time. P.S. this life hack from one foreigner and I completely agree with him HELLO ALL FROM RUSSIA!!))

Merci beaucoup Lina 😃 Very interesting. Strangely enough, German also helped me a lot for this aspect of the Russian language. Lol, in fact, I think German is probably the best languages (outside of the Slavic family of languages that is) to start learning Russian, because you have genders, you have conjugation, you have a case system and you have a prefix system pretty similar to the Russian one. The missing part is the aspect system, but for that, we have you and your excellent course 😁

@@klausfligge3499 Lol, but imagine how it feels for an English speaking person, who has no idea why an object has a gender, who has no idea what a real conjugation is, no idea what a nominative, accusative, genitive, dative is 😉 при = an, в = ein, вы = aus, пере = durch. Yes, the Russian system is more complex, but I really thing that, at least at the beginning, Russian is easier when coming from German than from English (in French we miss the declination) 😀 Oh, and by the way, like in German it extends to figurative too, einschalten / ausschalten = включать / выключать but here, it get's very complicated to guess how the prefix changes the meaning of a verb 😜

Hmmmmm.... What kind of verbal aspect do verbs with prefixes take? Imperfective or perfective?
@LinasLessons
@LinasLessons 9 ай бұрын
As there are two verbs of motion in imperfective aspect (идти - ходить, бежать - бегать), the first one becomes perfective (прийти, прибежать) and the second one stays imperfective (приходить, прибегать). They all work like this.

in my opinion the difficulty of verbs of motion are way way overblown. The prefixes are very easy, and you'll encounter them all throughout the language, so you aren't just learning them specifically for these verbs. The verbs themselves aren't complex either, just different than what we're used to. I've seen on more than one occasional people being scared away from the language because goofballs try and make these verbs out to be super hard. They aren't!
