It's up to the author. Some SCPs, like 6113, use numbers to denote separate things that are related, with one being an entity, and the other being a location. Other SCPs use letters for the same purpose, and some use letters and numbers for multiple instances of separate phenomena. It's mostly just up to the author though.

Probably not that good an idea, we we already know this is Karcist, even if it is a potential lie, the Sarkites are known to pop back up somewhere all the time, and seeing as they technically are at war with the Daughter, it is potentially a case where someone knows more than we do on their biology or anomalous powers, including the big ass laser.
