Imagine being so used to abusing your power that you decide to punish the frantic couple by calling Fire & Rescue, which of course they will have to pay for, even though the couple are standing right in front of the ER. So I’m thinking it’s more likely he didn’t believe them and just wanted to waste their time as “punishment” and give himself ample time to check for insurance issues, outstanding warrants, anything like that. Once, I was flashed to stop by a police officer, seconds from the hospital at 2:30 a.m. in the morning. I drove on in to the hospital parking lot and preceded to tell him, my daughter was on her way , she was labor way to early. She arrived and when she seen that a cop was talking to me, she told the cop she was in labor. And I told her when this nice cop will finish his job, I will be right in. The cop told me that I was following to closely to his car, at that time of morning, really. He finally let me go inside, my daughter gave birth to a 3 pound baby boy, he was taken to a NICU hospital close by and stayed there for 45 days. He is now a good strong boy. That was 12 years ago, but I can remember it, like it was yesterday, scary. The nurses in the hospital told me that the cop had done it before , several times, can you really trust an officer of the law??? Sometimes I wonder. That is crazy !! She could have stroked out. My daughter almost stroked out during the birth of my granddaughter. Unacceptable! The officers that are doing the wrong need to do better, or need to resign. I remember the day when police officers were much more professional and friendly. They taught children that you could go to police officers, if they needed help. Now they turn their heads. Been there. I'm so sorry that happened to them.

Would be great to get an update on this so they are held accountable. Zero updates anywhere after over 7 months. Id say the chances that this officer was actually punished for this are close to 1%, and the chance that he still has his job (and has probably been promoted since then) at around 99%.

Same here, except I just found this Story and HOPE this UNFIT is no longer employed as a police officer!! Were he in my City, I can tell you he would be Gone, or both the Chief and him would be gone together!!! Edit: If he is still employed, it REFLECTS that the whole department is UNFIT! Dereliction of duty, obstructing the roadway, misuse of government property, willful abuse of tax payer funds, abuse of the process of law, menacing threats, intimidation. Functional cops are drumed out while the dysfunctional thugs are moved around with impunity and granted favor, less the occasional sacrifical lamb.

That was also economical terrorism. In America, if Fire Rescue responds it's usually free. If a private ambulance company takes the call the price can range from $400-5000. The cop was trying his best to hurt them in any way possible.

Something similar happened to me; this was years ago; my son is now 28. I told the Cop that I had a woman in labor onboard. I thought he would provide some escort but didn't. I got Mom out of the car. I felt the Cop would help me, but he didn't; instead, he wanted to lecture me. The hospital staff directly communicated with him about why he was in the wrong.

@@dave8599 That’s not helpful, yes the distinction can be made that there are good Officers. However the bad ones overshadow good work that has been done. The bad Cops have certainly out done the work that good Officers have accomplished. Their bad deeds have changed the long term of many lives including death. The situation I found myself years ago had the very good chance to affect my son’s mother, my son and myself. Minimizing my experience or others does not help those good Officers that are out there. They are the ones that can directly affect change. Peer pressure can go a long way along with many other tactics.

Thank you for your professional opinion. This looked completely nuts to me, but I wanted to hear from somebody with experience in this kind of thing. A few people have suggested that the police officer should be fired. It is hard for me to see how somebody with judgment this poor is going to be able to function as a policeman. I wonder if firing the guy won't be the best for everybody including him. If he did something this stupid, he's probably going to do more stupid things until he or somebody else is killed.

Is that cop too lazy to go park his police cruiser somewhere else? I hope thêse two rude cops get fired. Maybe they'll smarten up. Seriously some cops just don't even belong in that profession in the first place. Glad this couple and their baby is okay. If those two cops did this before. They'll do it again well knowing them. After his buddy passed. I would've took off. He came after us and arrested us. We would sue him and have his badge. See to it. He's fired. Next time flatfoot. Find a parking space. Don't be lazy.
