Interestingly, there are also iguanas and boas in Madagascar today, despite the vast majority of species in both groups living in the Americas. I think there may be some other examples amongst reptiles and amphibians, but I’d have to double check. Regardless, there seems to be a trend with typically South American lineages also being found in Madagascar. Don’t think anyone knows why though for sure. I’d be willing to bet they all got there around the same time though probably and the same way.

I would love to see some videos on early dinosaurs. One could be Eodromeus, currently the oldest Saurischian dinosaur found, even more basal and primitive than Coelophysis, Eoraptor or Herrarasaurus. Other options include Buriolestes, the oldest known ancestor of the sauropods, living interestingly as a small, bipedal, short-necked carnivore. More options could be Erythrovenator, the oldest known Theropod, Tawa, a basal member of the Herrarasaur family, or Pisanosaurus, either the earliest known Ornithsician or a derived silesaurid.

Herrasauria is a recently invented branch of Saurischia, seperate from Theropods or Sauropods, and includes dinos like daemonosaurus, Chindesaurus, Staurikosaurus, Sanjuansaurus, and Gnathovorax. Also, Silesaurids may in fact be the oldest known Ornithischians themselves.

Well, there is an unnamed Paleocene Patagonian frog which was actually bigger than Beelzebuffo. Since it doesn't have a name, it'd be hard to do a video on,but I am always reminded of it when I see Beelzebuffo these days...

Amazing video like always, sometimes I feel that your videos, despite being short are up to the same standards of dinosaur documentaries such as Prehistoric Planet and etc. Maybe it would be interesting to include a variety of other dinosaurs such as Cryolophosaurus, unusual for its head crest and discovery in Antarctica and Shantungasaurus, mostly known for its shocking size which was similar to Zhuchengtyranus, a carnivore that lived alongside it. Hope to see more of this amazing work!😊

Yes, they can clamp down pretty nastily. I've once been bitten by a tiny European water frog (less than 3 in) in the wild, and I really struggled to get him off my finger without hurting him. Since then, I always wondered how he could pull off that stunt, since they're not diapsids - and you don't see such big muscles on their bony heads??? 🤔
