Prejudice - (by Tim Minchin)...by Helena Christie

My take on Tim Minchin's 'Prejudice', sung at the last Six In The City cabaret, at Battersea Barge on 18/11/13.
Not the best quality footage in the world...a mix of blurred long shots and closeups where my Dad was visibly laughing whilst holding his camera. But for now, it is simply meant as a lesson in red head etiquette!

Hi Chloe. Thank you very much! It's an awesome song. I just learned it by ear and played it in my natural style. It's all based around depending chords starting at Em, then Dmaj, Cmaj and a B maj and the entire structure of the verse and chorus until the final key change is based around variations of this - in my version, though the master himself definitely plays something a lot more elaborate. I've never written it down because I just wing it and then stuck a. Brian Bonsor jazz piece in the middle for a little solo. Then, of course I used the handy transpose button to bring it down a few keys so I could sing in my range. Had I had time I would have just learned it in the key I needed but was on a deadline.
