I calculated it with a complicated way: Find ABC angle, then CBD = 180° - ABC, then find BCD, after that calculate ECD = 180° - ACD (very easy to calculate ACD), ECD = CED, y angle = 180 - CED, x angle = 180 - EDA

Before watching: By exterior angle theorem: angle DBC = 46; thus angle CDB is 88 (180-2*46); ECD is 180-88-23=69 (or 46+23); following this logic angle x = 69+23= 92 (or EDC=180-2*69=42; 180-42-46= 92); y=180-69=111 degrees.

Good grief!I solved the problem by extending the line from the 23°and subtract it from 360°result, the opposite angles 46°, from that the top angle is 88°,and so on, your method is much quicker.Where do you get these problems? Do you make them up as time goes by?

At a quick glance: Angle BCA = 23 degrees. Then Angle ABC = 180-46 = 134. angle DBC = 180 - 134 = 46. Angle BDC = 46. Angle BCD = 180- 92 = 88. Angle DCE = 180 - 88 - 23 = 69. Angle CDE = 180- 138 = 42. Angle x = 180 - 42 -46 = 92 . Angle y = 180 - 69 = 111 degrees. Then x = 92 and y = 111 degrees.

If you take the 23° angle and call it "z", you can solve for x and y in terms of z. x = 4z y = 180 - 3z

The drawing is geometrically too obviously incorrect, which might confuse some people, as it initially confused me. _(But in fact I had already learned not to trust such drawings.)_ The declared angle which is shown on the drawing is not 23 degrees, but _(I've measured it with an online protractor)_ only 20 degrees, at least approximately. If that angle were actually 23 degrees, than the vertex angle of the second triangle from the right would be less than 90 degrees, but it's actually (at least approximately) 100 degrees. This visual discrepancy is a consequence of the fact that 20 degrees (actual angle, or near it) is less than 90 degrees divided by 4, while 23 degrees (declared angle) is greater than that value. Of course, if the people who are supposed to solve the problems are taught in advance to not to trust the correctness of the drawings, then it's OK.
