Love that preflight check. Left aileron input: check. Right aileron input: check. Pitch up input; check. Stick shaker test; check. Stick kicker input; check. ANd yes, I love a wheel (Boeing) and not the control sticks (Airbus) unless of course, it is a Viper. Nice video and thanks for sharing. Be blessed in Him.

First time I watched this video I did not realize you flew over the "border wall" (13:00), this time I heard you say, "there's the border." Border wall does not look like much from the sky, just like the Great Pyramids of Egypt. Up close, they are both more impressive. Great video!

Very nice video. You get better and better at this video stuff. I fly a little Cessna and always smile when I hear the tires give a sweet little chirp on landing. First time I've ever heard it from a jet. Damn you're good. 👍😊

There's an F16 fighter wing at ACY in Atlantic City and I used to love watching them do touch and goes. They would also practice "Strafing" us helicopters as we headed north from there along side their restricted training areas. All were very nice guys!

Beautiful video. As is common in the NAS today a very new controller there at ELP. At one point I heard the instructing controller correct the trainees heading. No disrespect to the trainee but hats off to the instructor for catching the error. Thanks for the window in window with the instruments, looks great!

OGM great flying and Reminds me of old Marty Robbins song esp. if intl means you wandered into Mex. Your comment on this always much appreciated. BP

You mentioned F-117 @ Holloman AFB. All F-117's have been retired with the exception of a few swlwct jets which are not at Holloman. According to USAF, the F-117 was replaced by the F-22 until 2009 and now only hosts MQ-9 drones. Shame. I flew in and out of KHMN in C9-A's (DC-9-30's). Awesome snackbar !

Love the scenery and skills. I earned my private at ELP. Routinely were were vectored across the border. Soon after I progressed to my instrument training and we would be sternly advised by ATC not to cross the border. I never never understood the change in protocol. Was there a diplomatic complaint?

beautiful video again mr Gregg. A couple of things....your voice was kind of low volume most of the flight. Also I have read that your plane cruises at 400 and some knots, but you never reach those speeds, why? and finally one more question and excuse my ignorance on the matter.... why on the radio sometimes you say things like going on kilo or java etc? thank you very much and please keep your EXCELLENT videos coming but don't cut them so much. Will love to see the full flight all the way until you get out of the plane. Thank you again
@TonyP92798 жыл бұрын
For the last question, it's the NATO phonetic alphabet - used by the military and aviation for pronouncing all letters A-Z. Taxiways are denoted by letters, so is the version of ATIS which is weather and terminal information.
@gregmink8 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I agree on the audio. Last time I turned down the ATC all the viewers got mad at me so now I just keep talking and leave it at that. I assume you are referring to the indicated airspeed not going 400. The true airspeed at altitude is generally around 445 knots. Do a google search for the difference between indicated airspeed and true airspeed.

As usual a perfect video! Any hints to the tech equipment you use? Would like to make a video with in flight audio myself. :)
@benritter75237 жыл бұрын
Just a curious question about control of the aircraft while taxiiing. I've only flown Cessna 172's and I was always taught to maintain a certain configuration of the control surfaces, depending on the direction of the wind, to keep the aircraft stable during the taxi roll. In all the videos I've watched of you, I've noticed that you typically are hands-off on the yoke during taxi. Does wind just not affect the size of your aircraft like a 172, or why isn't it critical to deflect the control surfaces in the Premier? Awesome videos by the way and thank you for sharing them. Haven't flown for 20 years but hope to get back too it in the near future.
@gregmink7 жыл бұрын
Wind does impact the plane while taxing, but it has to be a pretty significant wind. A 172 may get pushed around by a 15 knot wind, the Premier doesn't even budge with that kind of velocity. Thanks for watching!
