The simplicity of your vids make them unbelievably enjoyable and educational to anyone involved in aviation. I always have believed that less is more and it’s shown here under my beliefs.

the speeding up the cruise part as opposed to just cutting and it and skipping it is a big improvement. gives ya the whole spectrum of the flight. well done p1d.

Billings, my hometown! Bob Hope once said when he played there in 1989, Billings, the only place with an airport that you land at and then parachute into town! I made that same approach many times. Thanks

Thanks for the great flight to Billings, Mike! I used to truck thru there 3 or 4 times a month going to or from the Northwest. After the first couple of trips across Montana, it quickly became my most favorite state and I've been bugging my wife to move there for the past 15 years, without any success!! BTW, the records show that I watched this video 3 weeks ago, but for the life of me, I cannot remember it at all!! I must have watched it in my sleep! Regards, Ernie

Let me tell you something about your shirts Greg. I bought 2 golf shirts, one for my brother who owns a 182 and one for myself. I wore mine today for the first time , super comfortable and premium quality. I get a sms message from my brother today at lunch telling me he had worn his today for the first time and he included a picture of his newly acquired IFR endorsement in the message. He thanked me for giving him your shirt as it brought him luck. He had been trying to do his check ride since December. weather, winter, the planes Annual, examiner not available, everything prevented him from getting his check ride till the day we both wore your shirt. I think that the shirts are now our lucky flying shirts. Oh great video as always.

When flying over those beautiful, majestic mountain ranges, I wonder if Greg ever thinks about nosing down, increasing to maximum dive speed, levelling out at 500' into one of those pine-coated valley walls and just cruising through the landscape, banking and bopping, then pulling a 3G climb to clear the treetops by 100'? I know I do.

Until you were lined up on 12R it appeared they were going to make you taxi to Billings. It reminded me of the time we were moving around the taxiways at LAX and the pilot got on the speakers to reassure us that we were NOT going to taxi all the way to San Diego. Some airports have miles and miles of taxiways.

PD1, of the sequence from 23:48 to 24:15 the aircraft is rolling out from a right turn then appears to correct back to the left. This would indicate that the FD overshot the heading. Is this a sign of degradation of the system, a need for calibration? Another great video! Count me as another who likes to hear the engine spool up.
@gregmink6 жыл бұрын
It was actually intercepting a course....so it wouldn't be totally atypical for it to make a correction once it rolls out. Always amazes me how closely the viewers watch the videos. Very perceptive!

I can't count the times I flew (rode) from GCN to VGT with the air tour companies in years past. As a resident of GCN they would let us fly to VGT on the deadhead leg for free or just a few dollars. You can definitely put on some miles taxiing around VGT. I love the scenery in that part of the west.
