Premier Inn Hotel Cardiff - We Were NOT Expecting This!

A stay at the new Premier Inn or as they call it, the Premier Inn City Centre (Stadium).
This Premier Inn opened in Feb 2024 close to the railway station, stadium and the main shopping area.
We stayed in a Premier Plus Room on the top floors (15th, 16th and 17th floors). This location gave you views over the Cardiff City or towards the bay depending on which side of the hotel you are on.
We also tried the Premier Inn breakfast which you can have at additional cost.
We paid for the stay ourselves and it was not sponsored.

We stayed at the Mercure Cardiff North when we visited Cardiff a few weeks back, was perfectly fine. A few minor niggles but overall was pretty good. Definitely worth it for us as we needed to park the car for a few days, we ended up getting the bus the majority of the time as it was frequent and mostly reliable!

I’ve been there twice as a stop off to Southampton on the train for my cruises. I stayed on 14 and 4 on different sides of the hotel, there’s good views from 14. The meal deal is a good price and the food is great, I like that they had crumpets for breakfast.

You may not know it but Premier Inn have expanded into Germany and the room looks very similar to the one i stayed at in Berlin 2 years ago. The weird purple light seems to be a feature, no matter which PI you stay in

They were gorgeous, thank you. You were brave out in terrible weather. I’d have lost my chips if I’d been outside.😆 Shoutout to Mansel’s chippy for lovely gluten free chips. My first visit there with my husband. We’ll definitely be going back. There’s a few great gluten free options in Porthcawl. Dancing Turtle Coffee Shop, gluten free sandwiches made to order. And cake wrapped up and clearly labelled gluten free. If I see you again, and I’m not covered in chip grease I’ll say hello. 😆 My husband was laughing at me. I recognised you both, and I was trying to clean my hands so I could get this video to play on my phone. I watched it as soon as you uploaded it. 😆 Really enjoy your videos, long may you continue. X

Hi, the hotel does not have car parking but there are plenty of city centre car parks like John Lewis or St Davids although they are not cheap (£26 /24 hours I think). The cheapest (about half that price) and closest is Cardiff Central Station, Penarth Road but it is often closed during stadium events. Have a good time in Norway.

Yes, we’ve stayed there. You can get cheap deals off season but as you would expect quite expensive in the summer

Looks a nice hotel, looks in a nice position, one thing though, you must have arrived by car? (could have been a train but don't think so) but no mention of where you parked? by hotel? methinks it was a bit out, as parking in Cardiff is not good, I suppose Premier inn could have had a car park but you did not say?

No car parking at the hotel - we parked in the John Lewis Car Park but there is an NCP outdoor car park about 10 minutes walk away.

The Cricket ground is about 10 - 15 minutes walk from the centre, not far from the Castle. Cardiff is quite a compact city, no where is that far away. Hilton, Park Plaza and the Park Gate are all OK. There is a Travelodge on Queen Street or this Premier Inn as a budget option. Although I wouldn't recommend Queen Street on a Friday/ Saturday.

@@researcher-4u696 Close to the train station. Short walk to the main shopping centre St Davids 2. The rooms aren't the biggest but the hotel is good.
