I would take Hellmuth over Esfandiari heads up, so long as it isn't a one and done proposition. It should be at least best of 7. All of these guys like to talk shit and make fun of Phil, and he isn't a great cash player, but he is arguably the best freeze out player of all time. Along with having success in heads up settings, he has won 15 bracelets and made 57... yes.. 57 final tables... at the WSOP. Esfandiari made more than half of his lifetime winnings on a single hit on the One Drop charity tournament, which is basically a novelty event, and it included a "whopping" 48 entrants for a million dollar entry fee. That is like winning the lottery. He has won 3 bracelets and made 10 final tables. Negreanu is better than Esfandiari, but, still, he has just 6 bracelets, even though he has made a healthy 45 final tables. In the money finishes?... Hellmuth 154, Negreanu, 132, and Esfandiari a relatively pathetic 24. Antonio isn't nearly as good as he is cracked up to be. They simply like to talk trash because of Phil's blow ups and braggadocio, but he is better than them, especially Antonio. They are just as arrogant as Phil is, and in a way more smart ass, cocky, snarky manner. Is Phil a dick sometimes? Of course that is true. But that doesn't determine who is and isn't good, or the best.
