The dealer made the mistake by announcing call. When Scotty announced raise. It was also the grinders fault for showing his cards. They should have to go by the casino's rule for that action. The grinder got off easy too by not having a penalty for a time out of at least 10 min. That was a huge fiasco once the dealer announced call. No excuses for the grinder showing his cards though. I could understand if he didn't know the rules but even at this point the grinder has been playing the circuit for awhile now and definitely knew the rules so he screwed up big time. Who knows how much Scotty was going to really raise because he just knew he had the winning hand. That was a huge save for Scotty since the grinder showed his cards once the dealer announced call. That's why you should never touch your cards until all the money is in the pot and the play is truly over. I bet the grinder never made that mistake again.

No angle. Linda Johnson incorrectly announced the action (even though both Scotty and the dealer got it right), which led to Mizrachi showing his hand out of turn. In many places, Scotty would have been forced to raise (obviously min.), but the Gold Strike at this time did have the "lesser action" bit written in their rules.

He's a confident man and he's very outspoken about it but I've seen him act quite humble on a number of occasions. On top of that I follow a lot of the top players and read all the books and magazines and every time Scotty is talked about by his fellow poker pros it's with respect.
