Can I just pass on a big thanks for this advice. I have been struggling to move multiple clips whilst editing and then having a programme CRASH !. Worked a treat once I watched this video. Cheers.

@@SharperTurtle Hello, I have another issue and wonder if you have any ideas ? When editing a movie the audio -from what ever source is jumping or skipping every couple of seconds. It makes it difficult to edit. I also noticed that the audio seems to run ahead of the time line marker but everything is synced up i.e voice to lip timing. The only thing I have recently changed is to record in NTSC 1080 @30 FPS on all my cameras to work at the same frame rate as my DJI Spark. The production settings are set to this before I make a new film. I used to film in PAL at 25 fps and everything was fine.

Is it possible to just get rid of the timeline shift when you delete things altogether (in the properties I mean) or are you forced to do the right click command everytime? Thanks!

Great question. There is a nifty keyboard shortcut for what you want to do. If you want to delete an element from the timeline and not change the duration of all that follows, you can hold down the SHIFT key and press the DELETE key on your keyboard. It's faster than right clicking and using the menu as illustrated in the exercise. Hope this helps. --Jim

Jim, can you help me with an issue please. Usually when I add text or anything at all over top of another clip it snaps to line up the beginning automatically, but today it was not doing it, I had a hard time lining them up by eye. Do you have any idea what happened ? I have not changed any settings. It just started doing this.. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

In Premier if you right click on the timeline you will get a popup menu. The bottom option is "Snap" If that is checked the elements will be positioned against the timeline marker. I suspect that is what you are dealing with. --Jim

Nice video! Can you tell me if there is to a way to merge clips together so that you only need to change the size and position once? Also if you cut a clip is there a way to reverse it? (besides undo) Thanks a lot!
@SharperTurtle4 жыл бұрын
Matt, Let me answer the second question first. When you "cut" a clip the software actually acts like you are rolling the end of it under the the rest of the clip. It's still there, just not visible. You can take the mouse and hold it over the end of the clip until you see the red bracket. Then if you drag a cut clip to the right it will "unroll" the clip and make it longer up to the original length. As to your first question: I don't know a way to use the group tool to apply the same edits to two or more clips at the same time. I just experimented with it and it did not allow me to change the scale of two clips at the same time. --Jim

Is there a way to "nest" videos in adobe premiere elements?
@SharperTurtle2 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure what you mean by "nest". Can you tell me more? You can organize your project assets in folders and subfolders. In the Project Assets drop down you can import folders with multiple clips inside. You can also click on the Panel Options icon (the right-most one) and select "Create New Folder" to add a folder and then import elements of your choice. If you have something else in mind, let me know. --Jim

@@SharperTurtle Sorry, what I meant by "nest" is could you combine multiple clips in the timeline and edit more than one clip at a time. I'm trying to make a lightsaber effect and it requires lots of keyframing and editing each frame.
@SharperTurtle2 жыл бұрын
You can only edit one clip at a time. However, you could produce a range that includes data from more than one clip and then put that produced segment back into the timeline and edit it as one clip. That might be unnecessarily complex for your purposes. though. --Jim
