I like Nina Turner a lot, too, BUT... to be perfectly honest, I don't think she's as good a candidate as Bernie Sanders is! why, you ask? it's rather simple, really. Nina Turner is an African-American woman - she'd have to not only overcome a great amount of Racism, but Sexism, too! I really love her and I'd make her the VP any day (though, I don't believe she should take the position, as it is mainly a representative one, not one in which she could actually DO much to better the nation! then again, Bernie isn't the youngest and his great health aside, he could theoretically die any second now - so it's going to be important to have a good progressive voice in that position...

@@danielvertino8126 Pretty much, yeah... but, it might be, that I haven't heard about their latest "scandals" yet. You never know, what shallow BS reasons the US mainstream media rolls out, in order to disencourage voters and politicians alike. You are living i such a deeply fcuked up nation, I fear. ;) Do you have an idea of how laughably ridiculous you 'murricans do sound, when you people are starting to tout your own horn, about your "exceptional2 freedom... when in rality, your on,y plus in freedom would be your guns - which make a society LESS free. Instead of weaponry, we are receiving grade "A" healthcare, more or less, "free of charge", for everybody. We are so much "freeer" than you people; even without the guns. I got MS, when I waws 23... if I had lived in the US at that time, I would only have the "freedom" to eat shit and die quickly, while in Germany, they pay for my family, me, my pets, they paid for my education, my driver's license and much more. Sorry flr going off n this tirade of mine.... Sometimes I disagree with Bernie with his approach to fixing the Democratic Party, but I always know that he has the people's interest
@KarlEriksenopinion7 жыл бұрын
I don't think he trying to fix the Democratic party, in the sense of reforming the corporatists, I think he has realized the only realistic route to power is to entirely replace the corporate Democrats with New Deal type progressives. After all this is the true Democratic Party, and it is the corporatists who are not Democrats.
@dercannabist-infoaufklarun89387 жыл бұрын
yes, he doesn't even argue with them, just smile and work towards the next election... as soon as he is potus, which is going to happen, he will put together his own, progressive cabinet, he might even form a new party then, Democrats be damned. they will have to decide they're either with the American people - or their donors, ergo rich folks and multi-national corporations. as soon as the Democratic party is going to be WIPED OUT at the next midterm-election, I hope many of them are going to realize . or even better would be, if as many of those corporatists as possible would be PRIMARIED by actual progressives and socialdemocrats! Democrats, who stand by the people - not the donor class exclusively!

I'm with Telos on this one. Promoting terrorist propagandists and calling for the inevitable killing of innocent civilians is a bridge too far for me. Sander's voting record on war was spotty before his campaign, but his domestic polices were great and we seemed to be swaying him on war/empire. Now he's warmongering more than I can recall him ever doing.
@jodihouts60327 жыл бұрын
I'm with Danny J on this one. I still love Bernie but I don't know what happened. Remember, in the debate, when he said regime change in Syria was a bad thing? Then when I see what they did to Tulsi for not swallowing the narrative and going to Syria herself I do understand but........I have to part ways with my beloved Bernie. 💔 We have been doing sketchy shit AGAIN, fucking up somebody else's country AGAIN, killing people in a place we have no business being in AGAIN, killing their soldiers!!! Formulating lies, manufacturing fake news AGAIN. I can't be a supporter of that agenda.
@ex0duzz7 жыл бұрын
@danny j "Now he's warmongering more than I can recall him ever doing." Can you please share just what he's done to 'warmonger'? Serious question, i am a Bernie fan here(non american). I also cannot understand why he would sell out now when he's done what he's done for so long already.. or has his voting record on US foreign policy always been 'negative'? I also don't know why he's still staying with democrats even after what they did to him in the primaries and also with the outcome of the election. He says he wants to 'transform' the party, but it's HIM that is selling out and changing, not the other way around. Tom Perez doesn't strike me as trustworthy or credible, and there's certainly not going to be 'unity' if they don't acknowledge what happened in the past, and there's no accountability whatsoever for what happened, and they still continue to take corporate money and nothing changes whatsoever concerning that either.. wtf? Wasserman-Shultz quitting as chair doesn't mean anything, she's still in the party and still in washington and still influencial. I mean, SHE WON REELECTION even AFTER what happened! It's all the same sellouts in the democratic party as during the election who screwed Bernie over. Now he just wants to move on and pretend that never happened? Wasserman-Shultz being the chair and influencial member of my party is not really a good selling point for me, or for any progressives or Bernie supporters in the US i'm guessing. I don't think they can overlook this for ANY reason. lol And they want us to ignore all this and instead 'come together' with them? What a joke. I'm not surprised they are like that, but i'm more surprised that Bernie is seriously underestimating the integrity of his supporters if he thinks that his supporters will also just sell out like this at the drop of a hat just because one person told them to, even if it IS Bernie Sanders himself. I apologize to any Bernie supporter reading this who gets offended at me saying he 'sold out', but that's just how i feel. Or would you all be happier if we all just stayed quiet? lol sorry, not gonna happen broskis
@hughchefner7 жыл бұрын
ex0duzz, he is echoing regime change rhetoric for syria and praising terrorist affiliated "NGOs" (white helmets) and doing photo ops with them. he is also spreading nonsense hysteria about russia hacking our elections to gas light for the dems and take the focus off of the primaries being rigged, while helping the deep state and MIC. his foreign policy record is very questionable. he supports israel in their oppression of palestine and the only conflict he really voted against was iraq. he vaguely talks about stopping interventionist wars but wont get into specifics and supports the narratives that facilitate regime change while hes pretending to demand congressional approval.

It's disappointing to hear people speak negatively of Bernie. He is a wise, pragmatic and experienced politician with an altruistic mission. He knows his best bet is to lead disillusioned democrats to the progressive side. Surely he doesn't see the establishment democrats as allies. I think he just knows to keep his enemies close. In the end progressives and democracy will prevail and Bernie will be forever loved and remembered as an American hero and a genuine unselfish hero of a movement long overdue.

My American son living in England who has been fairly democratic establishment oriented in politics was absolutely thrilled with how well Corbyn did. He used to think Bernie was too far left and liked Obama a lot, but after the debacle of Brexit and the advent of Theresa May he recognizes that ultra conservatives are a real danger to the body politic worldwide. Now he has no problem with Bernie and tells me Corbyn is even to the left of Bernie in wanting to nationalize some industries like transportation and energy and he has no problem with it. He's hopeful that Brexit may even fall by the wayside as the scam it is perpetrated by the very wealthy in Britain who exploited the Islamophobia of the low information English in order to gain political power in England. Much like what Trump and the GOP are trying to do over here. It took Trump and Brexit to wake up my son. Hopefully he is not alone either here or in the UK or in other European countries battling the same forces.

Yes. Even the corporate media was admitting that a LOT of Trump voters were angered the first time he bombed Syrian armed forces. But the media largely ignored the next two times, and are promoting the narrative that Trump voters are still 100% behind him. They are trying to keep us divided. Both of you: Look to the Declaration of Independence and you will find those Rights. They are called We the Peoples inalienable rights. First mentioned "among these" is the right to life. Am I wrong to think that good health is included in that right? Damn right it is. I get standing o's when I give that little speech. In this area of the document, the founders mapped out the core of the intent they envisioned as our government. To address that part of their vision, our government created the commons. If you look at what the oligarchy wants to do to our nation through the GOP it is to dismantle the commons and give/sell them over to private ownership, mainly to themselves. That's our schools, libraries, parks, roads, our infrastructure, our lakes, and rivers; the list goes on and on.
