This is so great, thank you! Is there a way to also delete the source files at the same time? Say I'm cleaning old projects and wanna save up on storage space ?
@UnduMedia4 ай бұрын
Unfortunately no... there is no way to delete source files at the same time. I've experienced the same issue. It would be helpful. But I'm not sure if that sort of functionality will ever be added (I suspect it's a concern to allow an app to delete files from the system that way).

Good tutorial. Would you know how to permanently delete all unused files in premiere without selecting them one by one and selecting 'Media Offline' then 'Delete From Disk'?
@HasanabiVodRecap2 жыл бұрын
This would be amazing. If you find a solution please let me know! I film and edit concert content & I only use about 20 - 30% of the footage from each show. Having to go through and manually delete unused clips from my drives is really time consuming.
2 жыл бұрын
@@HasanabiVodRecap Actually you can click Edit > remove unused, then go with ctrl(cmd)+Z - it highlights the removed files, you go with rightclick > media offline > delete from disk

It's not working in my case. I saved a copy of a project, then deleted most of the clips in my sequence, but it still indicates that my media are being used even though I deleted them...
@UnduMedia3 жыл бұрын
Just to clarify... you're still seeing the little blue icons in the bottom-left corner of the clips? If so, try clicking the blue icon... it should show you which sequences the clip is being used in (including a timestamp). And if you click the pop-out text it Premiere should take you to that timestamp in the sequence. Lemme know if this helps. If not, we'll figure it out. The clips might be in use in a different sequence?
@veim24063 жыл бұрын
@@UnduMedia When I click the blue icon, it's telling me the media are used in nested sequences. I don't see those nested sequences in my main sequence since I've deleted them. However, it does open them up when I click them via the blue icon. Maybe I can try deleting cached files in the roaming folder ?
@UnduMedia3 жыл бұрын
Ah... I suspect that those nested sequences still exist in your project (even though they're not in the sequence you're looking at). So, if you're sure don't need those nested/sub sequences... delete them from the project. Then you should be able to delete the clips that were in them. If a clip is in ANY sequence (including nested sequences... even if they're no longer part of your working timeline), you can't delete it.

@UnduMedia2 жыл бұрын
Ah. Well, that version of Premiere Pro is over 10 years old. I don't think the Remove Unused feature was introduced until CC 7.0. So you'll have to update Premiere (but I wouldn't recommend updating if you're in the middle of any projects).
@avtem3 жыл бұрын
It's grayed out, can't click it. Maybe you know why?
@UnduMedia3 жыл бұрын
Honestly, no idea why. Did a quick search and found only one other reference to anyone having that issue - on an Adobe community forum, but no solution posted. Could be a number of things.
@sinarahmanian82242 жыл бұрын
a simple reason could be that you do not have any unused media in the project panel, you have moved all of them to the timeline.
